Apartments inGrand Theft Auto Onlineare a great idea in theory, but in practice, it feels as though they’ve never reached their full potential. Split into low, medium, and high-end,GTA Online’s apartments only really allow the player to watch the in-game TV channels, spectate other players via CCTV, store a few vehicles in the garage, and start Heists. There are plenty of ways thatGTA Online’s apartmentscould be improved inGrand Theft Auto 6, but one big evolution would be to allow friends to purchase and share an apartment as a group.
The most expensive apartment currently inGTA Onlineis the Diamond Casino’s Master Penthouse, which can cost just over $6 million if players buy every available extension and upgrade.
Grand Theft Auto 6allowing players to group together to purchase a shared apartment would have a number of obvious benefits, the first of which is that players would be able to get an apartment sooner, along with the various benefits that it would potentially bring, such as a sizable garage for everyone in the group. Having shared apartments could also pave the way for some increased functionality and incentives to actually buy the property, such asa cash bonus for co-op Heists, a rooftop helipad that stores players' aircraft, or the option to attach a business to it that all players could earn a passive income from.
Making this simple change could drastically improveGTA’s apartments, finally turning them into these social hubs that Rockstar has been seemingly trying to create for a decade now. If players all shared the same space, spawned there together, and had more activities to monitor and partake in, thenGTA 6’s apartmentswould see more use thanGTA Online’s ever did.
Larger-Scale Apartments Could Give GTA 6 More Creative License
