TheGrand Theft Auto Trilogyupdate makes stability improvements, adds a new cinematic camera, and fixes the various misspellings throughout all three games.Update 1.03 also addresses theoverbearingGTA Trilogyrain effects, so now rain should look significantly improved across the trilogy. But Rockstar did much more than fix the rain effects; the new update tackles some of the other big complaints fans have about the collection.
For example,GTA: San Andreasdraw distancehas been criticized in theDefinitive Edition, as the lack of fog made the map look much smaller. To address this,GTA Trilogyplayers now have the option to toggle on Ground Haze, which should makeGTA: San Andreas - Definitive Editionlook a lot more like the original.
Fans will also be happy to learn that themenu sound effects forGrand Theft Auto 3andGrand Theft Auto: Vice Cityhave been restored. Originally,GTA 3 - Definitive EditionandVice City - Definitive Editionused the menu sound effects fromSan Andreas, which fans found distracting enough that it didn’t take long for mods to come out to fix it. NowGTA Trilogyusers don’t have to download mods to get the menu sounds back.
