Halo: The Master Chief Collectionlaunches its sixth season today. The season promises to bring a new 100 tier battle pass full of new cosmetics toHalo: The Master Chief Collection.
Halo: The Master Chief Collectionis a great deal forHalofans, bundling all of the games in the series up toHalo 5in one convenient package. While it did have severe matchmaking issues at launch, 343 Industries has spent the years since release routinely patching and improving the game, including adding seasons in late 2019. The game takes a slightly different approach to seasonal passes than most in the industry, with none of the passes having a premium tier and each being available in the game forever once it is added.

With the sixth season arriving, titled “Raven” after the fan-favorite Fireteam Raven fromHalolore, a new collection of cosmetics and challenges are coming toHalo: The Master Chief Collection. The season includes a range of new armor cosmetics, as well asnew cosmetic features forHalo: The Master Chief Collection- back accessories and animated visors. Notably, the season also includes the new map Waterfall forHalo 3, the first new map released for the game in 13 years.
The season also brings with it a new game mode, Escalation Slayer. Available inHalo 2: Anniversary,Halo: Reach, andHalo 4, the mode puts a twist on standard Slayer matches by giving players a new gun at random after every kill. Season 6 also brings a new feature called The Exchange, which is described as a rotating stock of previously timed cosmetic unlocks that allows players to pick them up if they missed them the first time around. Each season also brings a new set oftimed challenges toHalo: The Master Chief Collection, this time around unlocking an animated visor, a new armor piece, and back bling that looks likeHalo’s iconic Heroic difficulty symbol.
All in all, it is a strong start to Season 6. There looks to be a lot of great new content for players to unlock and play around with, and the new map and game mode should help shake up the game’s matchmaking.
