Fans of theHarry Potterfranchise have known that the RPG game has been in development for quite some time. However, it seems that gamers will be able to experience Hogwarts on thePS5with the recently announcedHarry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy.
DespiteJ.K. Rowling’s transphobic comments on Twitter, devs at Avalanche Software have continued to work onHarry Potter Hogwarts Legacy. While rumors around the magical RPG have been flying around the gaming community, the game and its title are finally confirmed. Now, fans have a glimpse of what the game entails due to its reveal during the PS5 showcase event today.

During the PS5 event, many games were revealed, including thisHarry Pottertitle. The trailer displayed the magical school that players can immerse themselves in. Taking place in the late 1800s, the game gives players an open-world setting where they can take control of their Hogwarts experience and learn magic, potentially impacting the future of the Wizarding World.
The trailer shows off characters donning theSorting Hat, mounting brooms in the courtyard, and studying at the Hogwarts library. Throughout the game, players can choose what magic their character will specialize in from options such as potions magic to connecting to magical creatures that appear to aid the player in battle.
Not only will players be able to exploreHogwarts, but also other players in the wizarding world such as the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village. While the player adventures through what the open-world game has to offer, there is also an “ancient knowledge” for players to discover as well. The reveal shows that the long-awaitedHarry PotterRPG game will be available for play in 2021 for the PS5, as well as the Xbox Series X and the current generation consoles for both franchises.
With the customizable options for the characters in the game, players can actually feel like they are apart of theHarry Potteruniverse. After this reveal, many Harry Potter fans are looking forward to experiencing the game for themselves when it comes out next year. Hopefully theWarner Bros. gamewill be all that the fans want it to be. This game has been rumored to be in production since 2018, and after all the unconfirmed leaks that have been circling social media, theHarry Pottergame is now out in the open and coming to the public in the somewhat near future.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacywill be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in 2021.
