First announced last year,Hello Neighbor 2will see players go head-to-head with the game’s terrifying titular neighbor once again. In some new footage fromE3 2021’s PC Gaming Show, fans of the franchise got another look at the reactive horror game, showcasing a player sneaking around the neighbor’s home, setting traps, and using tools.

The clip begins with the game’s new protagonist driving through the city of Raven Brooks, and fans found out throughHello Neighbor 2’sMarch’s ID@Xbox showcaseearlier this year that it will feature dynamic NPCs to interact with. The trailer then switches to gameplay, showing the player prying wooden boards from the neighbor’s door using a crowbar.

Much like in the firstHello Neighbor, the antagonist’s home is an eccentric and eerie mansion, this time filled with dinosaur bones, large candelabras, and empty picture frames. However, inHello Neighbor 2, the location will offer a lot more to interact with, as the player is able to set traps to slow down the villain. One example shown during the trailer sees the protagonist place a can of paint on top of a door, stunning the neighbor as he spills the contents over himself when entering the room.

The sequel looks to be a significant expansion on the ideas ofthe originalHello Neighbor, delivering creepy stealth-based gameplay, improved visuals, and more options for tackling the game’s titular foe.Hello Neighbor 2is still slated to launch later this year on PC and consoles, although players can currently take on an Alpha version of the game. The early build doesn’t allow players to battle the neighbor himself, as that’s being saved for the full release, but they will be able to face off against an enemy in a Crow mask that utilizes the same reactive AI.

Hello Neighbor 2was one of many games shown during today’s E3 showcases, withStarfieldgetting a new teaser and official release date, Square Enix revealing its long-rumoredGuardians of the Galaxygame, andThe Outer Worlds2getting a tongue-in-cheek cinematic announcement trailer. Other games that made an appearance wereHalo Infinite, Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl, Forza Horizon 5, Battlefield 2042,andPsychonauts 2.There are still several more E3 showcases slated for the next few days, with Nintendo, Capcom, Take-Two, and Bandai Namco still preparing to take center stage.
