For the past couple of months,Hitmanfans have been enjoying the latest entry in the series,Hitman 3.Aside from concluding developer IO Interactive’s World of Assassination trilogy, it’s easilyone of the best stealth games of all time, with plenty of replayability for those who love experimenting with how they take out their targets and those who want to see how quickly they can complete missions. But this is far from the end of the series. In fact, some may have forgotten that there’s aHitmanTV show in the works.
While it still sounds like it’s a ways off from actually airing, Collider got to speak withJohn Wickcreator Derek Kolstad, who is writing the pilot and the second episode of the series. During the interview, Kolstad revealed one very interesting piece of info regarding how main character Agent 47 will be depicted in the show; namely that he’ll actually have hair.

47’s baldness is is probably one of the most iconic aspects of theHitmanseries, plus a defining feature of his character. Even the two live-action movies, despite being critically panned, remained faithful to the source material in this regard. However, Kolstad says that this is a part of how 47 will be introduced to the audience, adding that he won’t even learn of the barcode on his neck (another staple of the character) until the end of the pilot.
47 will still begin as a hitman, but a certain gig leads to him learning that his choices have not been his own and eventually discovering the barcode. It sounds like the idea is to establish a status quo for 47’s character before quickly turning it upside down, as well as a way to establish the character for new audiences who aren’t as familiar with the series. And while Kolstad doesn’t directly say it, it sounds like 47 having a full head of hair won’t last and he could potentially go bald early on in the show’s run (perhaps even at the end of the pilot).
When the series will actually air isn’t known and that might be because it doesn’t have a showrunner yet. Kolstad, while tempted, has decided not to take the position himself. Even if he only ends up writing the first two episodes, he’s already got other projects to keep him occupied, such astheSplinter CellNetflix series.
Fortunately forHitmanfans, they’ve got plenty to look forward to in the near future.Hitman 3has plenty of additional content to come in the future, including a seven-part expansion themed around the seven deadly sins, and there’s a mobile game too calledHitman: Sniper Assassins.
