Over time, the game has received many substantial updates that have upliftedHokko Lifeinto being a worthy contender to the likes of genre staples such asAnimal CrossingandStardew Valley. One such update added a surprisingly deep Mayor Merits feature that rewards player milestones with perks and abilities such as sprinting or the option to have villagers assist in resource collection. Other updates like the Bug Catcher Update added a monthly bug survey that gives insect-catching players something to work toward each in-game month.
Hokko Lifeboasts a number of key features for fans of the life sim genre to enjoy. A 3D design tool allows players to design entirely custom furniture that can be shared with other players. The feature gives players control over every detail, down to the color, texture, and angle of the pillow on a chair. Hokko Life features both net and pole fishing at various locations and the village is populated by a cast of anthropomorphic animal denizens reminiscent ofAnimal Crossing’svillagers.
Hokko Lifeleaves early access on September 27th, and gamers will be able to visit the cozy town of Hoko on consoles as well as PC via Steam. The game will be available for a modest $19.99 or half the price ofNew Horizonson Nintendo Switch, makingHokko Lifea worthy alternative for Switch gamers on a budget.
