WithHonkai: Star Rail’s version 2.2 drawing close, leaks regarding the next update have recently emerged online. Some of these leaks have provided details about Boothill, teasing the character’s story and skill set. They have also given a sneak peek into his design, revealing that he has a cowboy-inspired aesthetic.
HoYoverse launched the drip marketing campaign for Boothill a month ago, confirming that he is a five-star character who treads the path of Hunt. However, this marketing campaign didn’t give any information about his skill set and story, though he earned significant buzz within theHonkai: Star Railcommunity. Thankfully, some version 2.2 beta leaks have given players an idea of what to expect from Boothill.
Who is Honkai: Star Rail’s Boothill?
Boothill is described as a cyborg cowboy devoted to Lan, a higher-dimensional being that represents the path of Hunt. He is a member of the Galaxy Rangers organization, whose aim is to travel between planets and punish criminals who pose a threat to society. As for his personality,Honkai: Star Rail’s Boothill has a positive mindset, which means he always remains hopeful even in the worst situations of his life.
The cowboy unit wields a single-action revolver and often wears a large black hat. True to his name,Honkai: Star Rail’s Boothill has a cyborg arm, which he can transform into a futuristic weapon during combat. Besides, he wears black trousers and Western boots known for their durability.
Boothill’s Kit Explained
Like many otherHunt-based characters inHonkai: Star Rail, Boothill delivers a degree of single-target damage. As per beta leaks, he fits into the sub-DPS role due to his offensive capabilities. The character’s kit revolves around the Standoff state, a duel mode during which he gains an attack buff and generates bullets that deal a large amount of damage. Boothill can obtain these bullets upon defeating the enemy or inflicting the Weakness Break effect.
Honkai: Star Rail’sBoothill takes advantage of an enhanced attackto deal additional Physical damage to a single target. His technique allows him to apply the Weakness Break effect when performing his skill for the first time. Boothill’s ultimate dishes out a certain amount of damage, applies Weakness Break to a single target, and delays their action. One thing to note is that players will use IPC Work Permit, Credits, Shards of Desires, and Tatters of Thought materials to ascend him.
Boothill’s Talent is a passive ability that allows him to deal Physical Break damage for each stack of bullets obtained during the Standoff state. Moreover, it increases his Enhanced Basic Attack’s Toughness-reducing damage and contributes to overall Break damage. His kit makes him a viable choice for endgame modes, including Pure Fiction and Memory of Chaos, where players encounter formidable bosses.
Boothill’s Light Cone Explained
According to early leaks, Boothill uses Sailing Towards A Second Life as his primary weapon. This five-star Light Cone belongs to the path of the Hunt and provides the character with a passive ability that increases SPD and Break Effect by a percentage. Players will need to use Destined Expiration, Tatters of Thought, Meteoric Bullet, Fragments of Impression, Shards of Desires, and Countertemporal Shot materials to ascend Sailing Towards A Second Life. It’s important to note that the upcoming Light Cone will be featured inHonkai: Star Rail’s Brilliant Fixation banner.
Boothill will make his playable debut inHonkai: Star Rail’s version 2.2, which is scheduled to be released on May 8. He will arrive in the game along with another five-star character, Robin, and they will be locked behind a temporary banner that consumes Special Rail Passes. It’s currently unknown which phase of the version 2.2 update will promote Boothill.
