Characters like Boothill and Robin have seen their full gameplay kits leaked ahead of time, giving a glimpse into Boothill’s unique dueling mechanic and Robin’s supportive playstyle. Others like Firefly, Aventurine, and Duke Inferno have seen images of their in-game models surface ahead of their official reveal withinStar Rail. Now, Jiaoqiu has become the next character to see their kit revealed early.
A new leak shared by prominentHonkai: Star Railleaker Dimbreath has revealed details about thegameplay for rumored character Jiaoqiu. The leaked kit suggests Jiaoqiu will debut as aFire character withinHonkai: Star Rail, likely in the Nihility Path with a kit focused around manipulating debuffs. Both Jiaoqiu’s Basic ATK and Skill apply a stacking DEF reduction debuff to the attacked enemy, with their Skill also giving the debuff to adjacent enemies. Jiaoqiu’s Ultimate applies the same DEF reduction debuff to all enemies to equal the enemy with the highest stacks, while also providing a healing aura for allies and applying a DoT to enemies.
As some players have pointed out, Jiaoqiu’s proposed kit follows a trend with many of Penacony’s leaked character abilities. Penacony appears to feature a heavy focus around debuffs within its new characters, with several featuring abilities that apply debuffs to enemies.Weakness Break inHonkai: Star Railis also expected to play a bigger role, with Version 1.6 characters Ruan Mei and Xueyi heavily playing around the mechanic.
