Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreeintroduces several new armor sets for Tarnished to find and try. Just as with the base game, almost all the NPCs you come in contact with will be available to acquire at some point duringSotE’s story. This includesAnsbacha follower ofMohg, Lord of Blood, and one of the more interesting characters you’ll encounter in the Realm of Shadow. This guide will show you how to findAnsbach, start his quest, and collectAnsbach’s Setwhen the time comes.
Ansbach’s Armor Set Overview: Pieces & Stats
InElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Ansbach’s armor set is made up of four pieces: theWise Man’s Mask,Ansbach’s Attire,Ansbach’s Manchettes, andAnsbach’s Boots. When all four pieces are equipped, Ansbach’s Set weight is 13.9.
Ansbach’s Setis the exact same set you see Ansbach wearing throughout the course ofShadow of the Erdtree.His helm is meant to conjure up the image of a ‘wise old man,’ hiding Ansbach’s true appearance. The rest of his outfit is meant to show his adherence to the Pureblood Knights, the truest of Mohg’s followers.
Each piece of the set ‘slightly enhances Blood Oathand dynastic skills’.

Where To Find Ansbach’s Armor Set Location
To get Ansbach’s Set inShadow of the Erdtree, you mustcomplete Ansbach’s quest to the very end. You will first come across Ansbach at the Main Gate Cross site of grace, outside Beurat, Tower Settlement. He will be standing right next to Miquella’s Cross, nearMoore. There won’t be much you may do at this point, but make sure to exhaust his dialogue.
The next step you’ll need to take will come when you enter the Specimen Storehouse, in the Shadow Keep. There is a small library section on the first floor where you’ll find Ansbach, looking through several stone tablets. Here, you will want to give him theSecret Rite Scroll, which is found on the upper floors of the storehouse. After resting, and then returning, you’ll find two summon markers on the ground. Make sure and choose tohelp Ansbach. If you side withNeedle Knight Ledahere, his quest will be over, locking you out of his armor set. Completing the fight here will earn youAnsbach’s Longbow.
Once the fight is over, you’ll be done with his quest until the very end of the game. When you approachShadow of the Erdtree’s final boss' arena, you will want to verify tosummon Ansbach.No matter what the outcome of the fight is, you will find Ansbach dead against a wall, to the left of the arena’s exit. Approach him and interact with his body to collect Ansbach’s Set. This is also how you can acquireThiollier’s Set, which is found just before Ansbach’s.
Some players claim that as long as you’ve completed Ansbach’s questline to the point that his summon sign appears outside the final boss' arena, you will find the items after the fight whether you summoned him or not. We have not tried this yet, so we cannot confirm for sure. As soon as we know the definitive answer, we will update the guide accordingly.
