Disney is set to continue its voluminous journey into a galaxy far, far away. As part of the 2022 Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, the company made several big announcements regarding upcoming projects, including a new series from creators Christopher Ford and Jon Watts, the director ofSpider-Man: No Way Home.

Previously known only by its working title, “Grammar Rodeo,” itselfa clever nod to a joke fromThe Simpsons, it was revealed that the new show would be titledStar Wars: Skeleton Crew. On top of the title reveal, it was also announced that Jude Law, most recently seenplaying Dumbledore in the latestFantastic Beastsmovie, would be joining the cast. The series is set to hit Disney+ sometime in 2023. Star Wars mainstays Jon Favreau and Dav Filoni were on hand to introduce the new series, which they will also be executive producing with Watts and Ford.

Little is known about the project, aside from the fact that it will involve a group of kids who are lost somewhere in the galaxy and have to find their way home. The working title of “Grammar Rodeo,” was fitting,as it referenced an episode ofThe Simpsonswhere Bart and his friends lie about going to said grammar rodeo to drive a car to Knoxville, where they become stranded.

Jon Watts has definitely been busy as of late, having directed one of thehighest-grossing movies of all time(one that managed to toppleAvatar, though the upcomingAvatar: The Way of Watermay put James Cameronback on the box office throne), and having been tapped to direct another Marvel project, the previously announcedFantastic Fourmovie. However, Watts dropped out of that project, saying that he wanted to focus on something other than superhero movies. His split with Marvel was reported as amicable, and it’s obvious from his involvement in Star Wars that he still has a solid working relationship with Disney.

Aside fromSkeleton Crew, several other big announcements were made at the event, including a reveal ofthe trailer for the upcomingAndorseriesand thepremiere date for the third season ofThe Mandalorian. Rosario Dawson also appeared in a video to give a small update onAhsoka, which will also premiere in 2023. Dave Filoni also announced that he would be directing some episodes of the series. It’s definitely looking like next year will be a big one for Star Wars fans.
