Summary

Jujutsu Kaisenfans have been starved of content as of late, because the author, Gege Akutami, has taken an extended break.Jujutsu Kaisenwas in its Shinjuku Showdown arc, which focused solely on Sukuna, the King of Curses, and the raid being led against him. Of course, this raid was led by none other than the sorcerers who wanted to take him down, starting with Gojo Satoru, the strongest modern sorcerer.

After his death, many powerful sorcerers joined in battle, and ever since then, Sukuna has been dealing with them all at once. As things stand right now, Sukuna is fighting against Yuta, who is making use of Gojo’s body. This fight is quite easily one of the most exciting ones in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, most likely the second after the very beginning of this arc. However, fans have not been able to enjoy it properly and that is down to an extended break that the author recently took. Now, it appears that JJK is going on yet another break.

An angry Yuta prepares to fight Geto with Rika by his side in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s 3-Week Break

Jujutsu Kaisen Went On A Sudden Break Due To Gege’s Worsening Health

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262dropped almost a month ago, and it gave fans a very rough beginning to the fight between Sukuna andYuta, who was utilizing Gojo’s body. Fans expected this fight to be the one where both of these powerful sorcerers went on an all-out offensive, and that is precisely what happened. The very beginning of this fight saw both of them tap into their utmost best powers, which is their Domain Expansion. Sakuna tapped into the power of Malevolent Shrine, whileYuta utilized Unlimited Void. Both of these domains clashed against one another yet again, and it was certainly exciting. The strategy that Yuta employed was very similar to the one that Gojo did.

Essentially, he shrunk his domain down to a very small size which allowed him towithstand Malevolent Shrine hits for up to 3 minutes. In the meanwhile,Yuta attempts to damage Sukuna enoughfrom the inside to the point where he cannot continue using the Malevolent Shrine. For Sukuna, the goal is todestroy Unlimited Void from the outsideso that he can then expand his domain even further and kill just everyone inside.

That is precisely where fans are right now, and ever since then, the series has been in limbo.Sukuna and Yuta are currently fightinginside the domain, using hand-to-hand combat and just about everything else they have in their arsenal. Meanwhile, fans also got a proper glimpse of Rika in the previous chapter, who wasseen shedding tears over Yuta’s body.

Fans expected incredibly exciting action in JJK chapter 263; however, unfortunately, the author, Gege Akutami, is suffering from health issues. This is no surprise for the fans. It has been quite clear for the readers to see that the author has been suffering from some health-related issues due to the incredibly tough publication schedule ofJujutsu Kaisen. This is essentially the story of every author who works in Shonen Jump.

The environment is very stressful and authors don’t get as much rest as they should, which often has adverse effects on their health.Gege has struggled to cope with this incredible amount of stressand has suffered adversely in regard to his health. This is precisely why he has fallen sick as of late, and now, fans will most definitely see him return much later. Earlier, the series went on a 3-week break, which meant that it would return later this week. However, that was not to be. It was recently announced that the series will go on to skip yet another issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.

Gege Akutami Takes Another Break

Gege Akutami Still Has Some Recovering To Do

Most fans expected JJK chapter 263 to drop later this week. However, unfortunately, that is not going to happen. It was recently announced by the editor of the author that even though Gege has recovered for the most part, he isnot at his very best.As such, it makes more sense for the mangaka to wait until he’s back to his best and then resume the story. Fans will have to wait yet again for the continuation ofJujutsu Kaisen, and, as a result, this week, the fans will be starved once again. Here is what the editors had to say about Gege’s health and the upcoming schedule of the manga:

Although Akutami sensei’s health has improved, after consulting with the editorial staff, we have decided that he should resume writing when he is in perfect health. We appreciate your continued support forJujutsu Kaisen.

Of course, this might be frustrating for the fans. However, what they need to keep in mind is that the health of the author comes before just about everything else. The author has spent years drawing and visualizing this brilliant story. He will want to end it in the best way possible. The only way to accomplish that is for him toallow his body to restwhen he needs it and then continue when he feels like it. Given that Gege has delivered incredible joy to quite a lot of the fans as of late, fans should understand why he’s taking a break and be content with the short hiatus.

Of course, while this wait might be hard, fans can always reread the series and find bits that they missed previously. The Shinjuku Showdown Arc itself has been packed with action to the brim, and it is certainly worth a reread or two. At the same time, the JJK fandom has always loved theorizing, and this is the perfect time for fans to come up with the craziest of ideas as to what the author could do next. Regardless of what the fans think right now, the author is doing his best, so all they can do right now ishope for a speedy recoveryfor him so they can then enjoy the story once again.

WhenJujutsu Kaisendoes return, fans will most definitely get to see some of the most incredible action in the fight between Sukuna and Yuta. At the same time,Rika and all the others that are on the battlefieldare going to be involved as well. It is going to be glorious to seewhat they can pull off against Sukuna. It is also going to be interesting to see what happens to Yuta in the 5 minutes that he has been up. His fate hangs by a thread, and theauthor will soon reveal what he has in store for him. That and much more will be tackled in the series once it does return from its hiatus and fans could not be more excited to see this brilliant manga continue.

Jujutsu Kaisenis available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of JJK,Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 263, is set to be July 11, 2025.
