Original story follows.
Usually, Sony keeps a pretty tight lid on the free PS Plus offerings, though there are times when the lineup leaks ahead of time. It seems that at least one PS Plus game for July 2021 has leaked, but there have been “leaks” about the other two games coming, though they’re less believable. Sony will announce the free PS Plus games for July 2021 on Wednesday, June 30, and so fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to find out one way or another at least.

A Plague Tale: Innocence
Out of all the leaked PS Plus games for July 2021, the one that seems the most likely to be legitimate isA Plague Tale: Innocence. Prior to E3 2021, Resetera user Deluxera claimed that the event would see the announcement ofA Plague Tale: Requiem, in addition to anext-gen remaster ofA Plague Tale: Innocence.A Plague Tale: Requiemwas announced at the Xbox E3 2021 event, and the leaked remaster was announced at Xbox’s follow-up event, proving two of Deluxera’s claims to be correct.
However, Deluxera also said thatA Plague Tale: Innocencewould be one of the free PS Plus games for July 2021, with the next-gen remaster specifically being the free PS5 game for the month. Since Deluxera was correct about their other two predictions, it’s much easier to believe that they are right aboutA Plague Tale: Innocencecoming to PlayStation Plus as well. And now that we knowA Plague Tale: Innocence’s next-gen release date, it seems even likelier that it will indeed be one of the free PS Plus games for July 2021.

A Plague Tale: Innocenceis coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X on Tuesday, July 6. This is significant because July 6 is the first Tuesday of the month, and Sony always releases the new free PS Plus games on the first Tuesday of each month. Not only that, but most of thefree PS5 games on PS Plushave been brand new releases, and soA Plague Tale: Innocencewould fit that bill as well.
As for what the game actually is,A Plague Tale: Innocenceis an action-adventure game with stealth and survival-horror elements. Players have to avoid swarms of deadly rats that are carrying the black plague, taking on the role of Amicia de Rune as she tries to keep both herself and her younger brother Hugo alive.A Plague Tale: Innocencereviews were mostly positive at the time of the game’s release, with the game even nabbing some awards as well.

WithA Plague Tale: Requiemon the horizon, it would make sense forA Plague Tale: Innocenceto hit PS Plus. This way, those who missed out on the game when it first launched in 2019 will get the chance to play it, potentially creating a bigger audience for the sequel in the process.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
For those wondering what exactlyUncharted: The Lost Legacyis, it’s a standalone expansion toUncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Unlike most of theUnchartedgames,Uncharted: The Lost Legacydoesn’t feature Nathan Drake as the main playable protagonist. Instead the game focuses on Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, while still delivering an authentic, though smaller-scale,Unchartedexperience.
InUncharted: The Lost Legacy, players are still completing puzzles and platforming sections while mowing down enemies in third-person shooter segments. There’s plenty of witty banter between the various characters, as one would expect from anUnchartedgame, and with it being a Naughty Dog title, the production values are off the charts. The game earned critical acclaim when it first launched in 2017 and would undoubtedly be a strong addition to the PS Plus lineup, but fans shouldn’t hold their breath. It’s entirely possible that Sony has other PS4 games in mind for the free PS Plus games for July 2021 instead.
WRC 9
The other PS4 game rumored for the free PS Plus games for July 2021 lineup is aracing game calledWRC 9. Having launched just last year,WRC 9would be the newest game in the lineup, if the leaks are accurate. It flew under the radar for those who aren’t big racing fans, but it still earned mostly positive reviews and would be yet another strong addition to the PS Plus lineup, rounding out an impressive month for the service - assuming the leaks are accurate, that is.
TheWRC 9PS Plus leak comes from the same source as theUncharted: The Lost Legacyleak, German site MyDealz, and many think that leak was faked. Luckily, fans don’t have to wait too much longer to find out if the leak was legitimate or not. Sony almost always announces the free PS Plus games on the last Wednesday of each month, meaning the free PS Plus games for July 2021 will likely be announced as early as Wednesday, June 30, so fans should stay tuned.
