Summary

Persona 6will be available on Xbox consoles, a well-known leaker has said. The claim was offered along with some speculation about the chances ofPersona 6also making its way to Xbox Game Pass, much like the other recent entries in the series.

Persona 6has been in development for at least three years, with Atlus’s first mention of the game dating back to a 2021 job posting, which saw the studio talk about a company-wide desire to surpass the fifth numbered installment in the franchise in every way. Since all the mainline entries that preceded it debuted as PlayStation exclusives, there has been no shortage of fan speculation thatPersona 6could continue that pattern.

Persona 6 Is Reportedly Coming to Xbox Consoles

But prolific leaker Nate the Hate believes that won’t be the case. “From the information I’ve heard, it does seem as ifPersona 6will be coming to the Xbox,” the insider said during the latest episode of theDirectXboxpodcast, around the 23:15 mark. Elaborating on that claim, Nate the Hate noted that he is not entirely certain if the game’s Xbox debut will happen on the same date as its seemingly inevitable PlayStation launch. But given howPersona 5 TacticaandPersona 3 Reloadwere both treated to same-day multi-platform releases, Nate the Hate labeled the notion ofPersona 6following suit as plausible.

Persona 6’s Potential Xbox Game Pass Debut Seems Less Likely

On the other hand, the insider isn’t as convinced thatPersona 6will manage to reach Xbox Game Pass, at least initially. While he didn’t claim to have any concrete info about its potential arrival on Microsoft’s subscription service, Nate the Hate opined that such a high-profile launch would “would take a lot to do.” Although the latest twoPersonagames were both day-one releases on Xbox Game Pass, neither of those was a new mainline series entry.

The most reliable among the currently active Atlus leakers, Midori, hasn’t yet said anything on the subject ofPersona 6’s target platforms. They did mention the upcoming RPG on quite a few occasions, having recently shared thatPersona 6is targeting a 2025 release, but could still slip into 2026, depending on how its development progresses.

Taking their most conservative estimate at face value, it would appear thatPersona 6is likely to set a new record for the longest gap between the mainline series entries, which currently stands at eight years that Atlus took to releasePersona 5afterPersona 4launched to widespread critical acclaim in 2008. Midori also believes that the Japanese studio is currently working on the remakes ofPersona 4and the 2D games in the franchise, though none of them are expected to hit the market beforePersona 6does.
