After a full month ofgrinding through Zendikar Rising Limited, manyMTG Arenaplayers may be feeling ready to switch things up and take a bit of a break this month. There have been chances to draft Throne of Eldraine and Ikoria Lair of the Behemoths instead, but the next big event will bring back the popular 2016 set featuring Chandra’s home plane.

Over the last yearMagic Arenahas developed a new trend of bringing back popular sets from recent years of Standard to offer a fresh Draft format and insert some new chase cards into the digital version of the Wizards of the Coast collectible card game. The upcoming event introducesKaladesh Remasteredand players can dive back into the thopter-filled format starting on November 12.

Kaladesh Remastered not only brings an exciting and popular draft format back for a limited time, but it also injects some wild new cards to the Historic format. Don’t worry, this won’t impactStandard’s legal format and setsin any way. SinceMTG Arenalacks the traditional Eternal formats, Historic has become a popular replacement for Legacy, Vintage, and even Modern for the accessible online version ofMTG. Anytime there’s a new influx of cards for the Historic format fans of Arena Constructed have a chance to brew some brand new decks and see how far they can push the power limit in the format.

Don’t be surprised if the ban list is updated within a few weeks after Kaladesh drops and the Historic metagame begins to adjust to the change. In recent years it seems like Wizards is much more comfortable creating powerful formats and thendropping the ban hammeras frequently as necessary.

The set will become available on November 12, but there are some preorder bonuses available for players who know they want to play a fair amount of the set and are willing to drop around $30 ahead of time to ensure a good deal on some packs, draft tokens, and cosmetics.

Kaladesh Remastered Preorder Contents and Price

Starting on November 5, players will have the option to preorder Kaladesh Remastered for a special deal on packs, Player Draft tokens, and in-game cosmetics:

10 Kaladesh Remastered booster packs

Playset (4x copies) Aether Hub cards

1x Aether Hub alternate-art card style

Players who want to continue drafting the Standard legal sets instead will still have that option. Don’t expect Zendikar Rising draft options to disappear at any point throughout November. The traditional and premier Rising drafts will remain the bread and butter of Arena Limited tournaments at least until December arrives (and probably even longer).

Magic Arenais available now for PC and Mac. A mobile version is currently in development.
