The hero roster forMarvel’s Avengershas remained static lately, as the title seems to be slipping out of service thanks to shifting ownership between the developer and publisher. However, while there are still rumors of heroes like theWinter Soldier coming as DLC, some fans have started to create their own concepts for how to include popular Marvel characters into the game.
One fan in particular has shared one of their concepts to theMarvel’s Avengerssubreddit, with a detailed explanation for how Scarlet Witch could be introduced into the ongoing title. Reddit user IllI-APEX-IllI has done the work to implement the concept of Scarlet Witch from including possible Heroic abilities, to an entirely new status effect unique to the character joining the in-game universe.

The concept naturally begins with a design for Scarlet Witch, moving by floating in the air and likely being one of the few characters with free flying traversal. However, where this takes the turn from interesting to impressive is how the fan managed to work the powers shown off fromWanda’s appearance inMultiverse of Madnessinto her Intrinsic and Heroic abilities. Namely, Scarlet Witch would be able to use chaos magic to lift enemies with Telekinesis, fire Chaos Bolts, or even attack with the tendrils of chaos creatures to dispatch enemies.
In addition to the new abilities from Scarlet Witch, the fan also introduced a concept for a whole new status ailment to inflict on enemies, allowing players to confuse opponents with Chaos and cause them to attack their own allies. There is also some built in synergy with the hero’s attacks, where Scarlet Witch’s Intrinsic meter filling would allow her to inflict Chaos on any enemy that lands a hit on her. While there are some questions of balance for the character, especially with how powerful Telekinesis might turn out to be, it would make for an interesting take on one ofMarvel’s Avenger’s various leaked heroesthat players hope to eventually see.
The current hero roster fromMarvel’s Avengersonly scratches the surface of popular Marvel characters that could fit into the live-service model the game pushes. So, it would be impressive to see more heroes join the ranks of the Avengers as Crystal Dynamics is hopefully free to continue giving the game support. That being said, maybe these concepts could also be implemented into asequel toMarvel’s Avengers, if the developer is able to get the second chance it needs at a proper launch.
