InSpider-Man’sprolific comic book history, Peter Parker has become physiologically comparable to an actual arachnid in a number of continuities. For example, Peter has scientifically grown four extra arms, has been mutated into a Man-Spider creature, and has also become a literal, enormous spider.

Of course, spiders are intrinsically connected to Peter and his abilities no matter what series or continuity is looked at. Insomniac Games' depiction of the character inMarvel’s Spider-Manis no different, especially when it comes to bestowing genetically altered abilities unto a new hero in its narrative. Arachnophobes, beware: the latestskin to be modded intoMarvel’s Spider-Manis none other than a tiny spider asset that appears in the game, and is fully playable in a fan’s demonstration video.

YouTuber jedijosh920, who also sharedaMarvel’s Spider-Manmod forSpider-Man: No Way Home’s final suit, shares the mod in an in-depth video where the creepy-crawly is playable and interacts the same way that the normal Spider-Man character model does. As the miniscule spider, players can engage fully in combat with an incredibly zoomed-in point of view. Of course, the eight-legged arachnid does not have any animations associated with its gameplay, but it can be seen distracting Fisk thugs and stringing them up to girder beams.

Because the spider is a reskin, it still possesses Spider-Man’s attacks and strength. Thugs are seen flailing about and being struck by an almost indiscernible creature and is therefore hilariously more similar to Ant-Man than Spider-Man. Further, the spider is seen web-zipping and fully swinging from webs throughoutMarvel’s Spider-Man’s open-world New York City. The spider can also be seen interacting with rats in alleyways and pedestrians on the street to funny effect, as they still react to the spider as if it was Spider-Man.

This particular spider is one of many genetically engineered spiders that Mary Jane Watson accidentally frees from Norman Osborn’s secret laboratory. Interestingly, it is also the same spider that hitches a ride on MJ all the way to the FEAST shelter, where it eventually lands on and bites Miles Morales. This is how Miles receives the bio-electrokinesis andoptical camouflage powers he discovers inMarvel’sSpider-Man: Miles Morales.

However, jedijosh920’s video concludes with Peter getting bit instead as if this was the spider that ended up giving him his powers inMarvel’s Spider-Man. This is a fun roleplay to see the spider in and showcases all that the mod has to offer with gameplay that is no different fromMarvel’s Spider-Man, yet made more hilarious and unique with a tiny spider reskin.

Marvel’s Spider-Manis available now on PS4 and PS5.
