Summary

AMinecraftplayer has discovered that it takes 19 Armored Wolves to defeat a Warden. The Warden is one of the strongestMinecraftmobs as it can deal and withstand massive damage, but this gamer has a trick to defeating one without having to attack it themselves.

The Warden wasadded toMinecraftwith update 1.19alongside its typical spawning location, the Ancient City. Wardens are summoned by a Sculk Shrieker after they are alerted by a Sculk Sensor. These sensors are typically triggered by players moving without crouching or breaking blocks close to the Sculk Sensors. The Warden is the first blind mob introduced to the game, and it can track a player’s movements based on the noise they produce. Players can use Wool to mask their noises in the Ancient City and Snowballs to throw the Warden off their trail. OneMinecraftplayer has discovered a way to defeat the Warden without ever attacking it themselves, and that’s via the help of Armored Wolves.

Reddit user BrunoGoldbergFerro recently shared a clip in which 19 Armored Wolves are trapped with a Warden in a small walled-off area. The tight space lacks anyMinecraftSculk Sensors or Shriekerswhich suggests that this experiment was done in Creative mode. The Seed is paused as the video begins, with the Armored Wolves on one side of a dirt line and the Warden on the other. As the player unpauses their game with a command, the Wolves surge toward the Warden, with three of them ending up atop the surrounding barrier. The Wolves deal small bits of damage to the powerful mob, but they start to die one by one. Given that the Warden can only focus on one Wolf at a time, the multiple bits of damage slowly outnumber the loss of the Wolves, eventually causing the death of the Warden.

How Many Warden Attacks Can Armored Wolves Survive?

By the end of BrunoGoldbergFerro’s clip, there’s only oneMinecraftArmored Wolfleft, making it unlikely for 18 Wolves to defeat the boss without the assistance of the player. Each Wolf takes four melee attacks from the Warden before dying, and the mob only targets one at a time. Though the Warden can deal massive damage at melee range, it also has a Sonic Boom ranged attack that can go through walls in a 20-block radius. Given that gamers can deal significantly more damage than an Armored Wolf with the right equipment, the Warden may have died quicker with the additional support.

The Wolf Armor hasn’t been added to the live version ofMinecraftyet, but Snapshot players can test aspects of the next update. AsMojang continues to updateMinecraft, an alternative allied mob could make battling the Warden easier than requiring the assistance of 19 Armored Wolves.
