The Evasion Mantle is the perfect choice for aggressiveMonster Hunter Worldplayers who want to weave in and between a monster’s moves before retaliating with their own counterattacks. It may not be as convenient as the beloved Temporal Mantle, but the risk the Evasion Mantle presents does come with its rewards.
Getting the Evasion Mantle is simple, though it has a condition thatthe game doesn’t tell players. Learn how to get this mantle as quickly as possible with this short guide forMonster Hunter World.

How to Get The Evasion Mantle
Players can start getting the Evasion Mantle a little later on their High Rank journey.Like all other mantles, you’ll need to finish a specific quest to unlock this one. However, what the game doesn’t say is that you need tohunt seven different Tempered monsters that are at least threat level 2. As you go on quests, expeditions, or investigations, you’ll encounter Tempered monster tracks indicated by blue Scoutflies. Collect enough, and a Tempered monster investigation will become available at the Resource Center. If you do encounter a T2 Tempered monster out in the wild, follow it around without provoking it and collect its tracks as it goes about its day.
Once you beat seven Tempered monsters, a quest calledNew World Sky, New World Flowerwill appear under the optional 9-star HR quests menu. This will have you squaring off against a Tempered Rathalos and Rathian inside the Special Arena. Beat both of them, and you’ll unlock the Evasion Mantle. If the mantle isn’t unlocking for you, then try unlocking the Challenger Mantle first.

The Evasion Mantle increases the number of invulnerability frames (iframes) of your dodges. Perfectly evading an incoming attack while the mantle is equipped will give you a 30% damage boost for 20 seconds. This is slightly stronger than the attack buff given by Heroics 6, which sits at 25%. Combine Evasion Mantle’s buff with other attack boosters and offensive skills to reach very high damage numbers for as long as you keep evading while the mantle is active (90s maximum base duration).
One neat thing about the Evasion Mantle is that it works with theLong Sword’s Foresight Slash, making this the perfect mantle to pair with the weapon. However, you’re able to’t stack Evasion Mantle with Evade Window — the former uses its own set of iframes and completely overrides everything else when it’s worn. Evade Extender will still work and complement Evasion Mantle, though.
