In aninterview with GamesRadar+ at San Diego Comic-Con, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford brought uphow successfulTiny Tina’s Wonderlandsturned out to be, even going as far as to say it was a more successful launch than the originalBorderlands, which makes sense consideringBorderlands 2is where the series really picked up steam. Pitchford went on to hint that due to the critical and commercial success ofWonderlands, there may be more that fans of Tiny Tina’s fantasy spinoff could look forward to in the future, saying “…what we demonstrated with the firstWonderlandsgame is that there’s something there. It was wildly successful and exceeded our expectations…I think it’s reasonable for our fans to expect more there.”

Gearbox Boss Hints At More Tiny Tina Content

Due to it being two and a half years since the release ofTiny Tina’s Wonderlands, it’s likely that Pitchford is hinting at a full-on sequel rather than more DLC. Whether a sequel will remain inWonderlands’Dungeons and Dragons-esque fantasy setting or if it’ll bring Tiny Tina to an entirely new world is unknown. It’s important to remember that Pitchford’s comments are far from confirmation. On top of that, it’s been heavily rumored thatBorderlands 4is likely to be Gearbox’s next big title, so a potentialWonderlandssequel would still be several years away.

…what we demonstrated with the first Wonderlands game is that there’s something there. It was wildly successful and exceeded our expectations…I think it’s reasonable for our fans to expect more there.

While it seems Gearbox is very close to officially announcingBorderlands 4,fans won’t need to wait until the fourth installment or the hinted Tiny Tina spinoff continuation to get their fix of the franchise, as the long-in-developmentBorderlandsmovie is finally set to hit theatersin just a few weeks, on August 9. PerhapsBorderlandsfans will learn more about what Gearbox’s next big game is, and whether it’sBorderlands 4,later in August during Geoff Keighley’s annual Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase.
