Mortal Kombat 1gamers who are playing on PC have recently spotted that crash logs can take a huge amount of space from their hard drives.Mortal Kombat 1offers a fresh start to the franchise, and it was one of the most anticipated games for Fall 2023, but it’s unfortunately not free of technical issues, which have been popping up since the launch.
Released in September,Mortal Kombat 1was a critical success, becoming one of the highest-rated games in the entire year. The title sits at around 82 on Metacritic for PC as of this writing, with even higher scores on consoles. Overall, critics praisedMortal Kombat 1’s fluid gameplay and the brutal aesthetics of the fights, but one issue on PC may have been overlooked.
It seems that crash reports inMortal Kombat 1can take up to around 1 GB of information for each crash on a PC. The issue was brought to light by X-Azeez on Twitter, who collected a few screenshots from someone named LouRagou, who was already complaining about the problem on Steam last month. While not every crash report necessarily has the same size, they may grow when accumulated over time, especially as most gamers have no idea that the issue even exists. The situation can get pretty bad for some people, and an example of that could be seen when someone answered X-Azeez’s post with a screenshot of 41.6 GB of data from crash reports. Fortunately, there is no indication that the issue may be affecting consoles as well.
Unfortunately, this is not the only issue thatMortal Kombat 1players are facing right now. Recently, a player found a glitch on PS5 wheninputs were not registering properly inMortal Kombat 1. The issue happened in both Practice and Tournament modes, but it seems to only affect a few players.
In light of these platform-specific issues, most players are waiting for the developers to solve these problems. Fortunately, the devs have a decent track record at doing that so far. For instance,Mortal Kombat 1had a serious game-breaking glitchin which the Player 1 had an advantage during fights. In short, the glitch made it easier for the person playing as Player 1 to land certain combos than the one playing as their adversary. The issue was widely noticed, and the devs were able to fix it within a few days, so hopefully the same will happen now, especially considering that the team is now aware that the problem exists.
Mortal Kombat 1is available now on PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
