Released in celebration ofInvincible’s 20th anniversary, this newMortal Kombat 1trailer gives a brief look into Omni-Man’s move set, with special emphasis on his Fatalities. There’s one showing Omni-Man beating in the face of his opponent, another where he flies to a nearby subway and holds his opponent in front of an oncoming train, and another that has him sadistically crush his opponent’s head with his bare hands. Fans appreciated howOmni-Man’s fatalities were references to iconicInvinciblescenes.
Alongside his move set, fans also get to hear how Omni-Man interacts with the other members ofMortal Kombat 1’s roster, with the trailer featuring some of the special intro dialogues that play before a match. Some of these chats describe how Omni-Man arrives in the world ofMK, where he is looking to conquer the realms in the name of the Viltrum Empire.J.K. Simmons reprises his role as Omni-ManforMortal Kombat 1, with many praising his voice work since it sells the character’s intimidating presence, with a highlight being how he sees Liu Kang’s boast of having erased past timelines as something that makes the Fire God a worthy challenge.
Mortal Kombat 1fans noticed that this trailer also contained a quick appearance of Tremor, a classicMortal Kombatninja character who has the power of the Earth Elemental. Tremor will be a Kameo fighter inMK1. The end of the trailer states that players can get early access to Omni-Man if they purchase the game’s premium edition or Kombat Pack, with the character joining the roster in November 2023.
