AlthoughMortal Kombatmay be a series known for its over-the-top violence and complex fighting game systems, the series has developed a proclivity for secrets over the decades. With so many games to cover, the lore in Mortal Kombat has spawned tons of fun fan theories, interesting connections, and some absurd discoveries like therule about Sindel’s cleavage and blood.
And even thoughMortal Kombat 11has been out for a while, players are still testing theories and trying to find secrets that the popular fighting game has to offer. One player, for example, decided to see if the meteorite in the Krypt area is deadly.

Psychotictornado is not the firstMortal Kombatfan to test the theory about the comet/meteor but it should be a new discovery for many fans. He enters the Krypt, summons the comet, and sure enough it lands right on top of his character.
To developer NetherRealm Studios’ credit, the comet kill has been fully fleshed out complete with a bloody explosion that leaves a severed head behind. For a studio whosefan base loves to search for cluesin almost anything, it makes sense that the devs would assume someone would try to have the comet land on them. It’s still not an easy feat, though.
For all of its nostalgia, the Krypt inMortal Kombat 11has been something of a contentious addition. While pastMortal Kombatgames have used a similar concept to allow players tounlock skins, fatalities, brutalities, and other customization options, they were all located in set places. Mortal Kombat 11’s Krypt, on the other hand, randomized the locations of almost every unlockable in the game, making it so players had to spend more money trying to find the items they wanted.
Add to that the factMortal Kombat 11launched with asevere Towers of Time imbalance issueand economy problems, and many looked at the Krypt as an unwanted change. The area has a lot of cool ideas at play and it’s an opportunity to venture throughMortal Kombat’s past – even theMortal Kombatmovies get some nods – but it is still part of an unlock process that is less than ideal.
Mortal Kombat 11is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, Stadia, and Xbox One.
