Summary
Sasuke Uchiha is known for his extensive arsenal of abilities that have long dominatedNaruto’snarrative, be it the Mangekyo Sharingan or his ownLightning Style techniques. However, his true strength now lies in the Rinnegan that he received from the Sage of Six Paths, opening up all sorts of new avenues of power for him. The Amenotejikara is one such jutsu that is a direct result of Sasuke’s Rinnegan, turning him into an unstoppable powerhouse on the battlefield.
Asa space-time ninjutsu, Amenotejikara is an extremely versatile technique, with Sasuke using the jutsu for both defense and offense. With the power to shift places with any object instantaneously, Amenotejikara has become one of Sasuke’s signature techniques inBoruto, further testifying to the jutsu’s strength. Despite being a seemingly straightforward ability, the technique has a few intricacies to it, leading to various creative applications.

In essence, Amenotejikara allows Sasuke to shift himself or any other target to another space instantly. However, the technique differs from merely teleporting oneself, as it shifts objects between spaces, meaning Sasuke will swap himself with anything occupying the space he is shifting to. With this ability, he can swap places with an opponent, or even a sword to surprise enemies.
While the concept of Amenotejikara lies in swapping two spaces, Sasuke has been witnessed moving opponents and enemies without necessarily swapping them with an object. This indicates that Sasuke can swap objects with thin air, essentially granting him the power to shift himself or his opponents without any constraints. Naruto has also described the technique to be similar tothe Body Flicker Technique, which is in line with its power to shift spaces without necessarily swapping objects.

The Various Applications of the Technique
While Amenotejikara may seem like a mere space-time ninjutsu that simply allows Sasuke to swap objects, the technique itself has considerable potential. As long asSasuke’s Rinnegan is active, he can never be restrained by his opponents, as he can simply swap places with them and escape, all while binding the opponent in his place. This further extends to weapons and swords, as he can replace himself with a sword to stab enemies charging at him.
The most viable application of the technique is to transport opponents right in front of him, ensuring his attacks land each time. The reverse is also possible, with Sasuke transporting his attacks and projectiles right in front of his opponents. Since the momentum of objects remains unchanged, these projectile attacks can take opponents by surprise. Amenotejikara is quite versatile, with its potential entirely relying on the user’s wits and creativity.

The Source of Sasuke’s New Power
While Sasuke never explicitly stated when he gained Amenotejikara, he was only able to use the technique after Hagamoro granted him his chakraand the Rinnegan. It was initially believed that the Rinnegan offers the same set of powers to all users, yet this was debunked after new users of the dojutsu were introduced, and Sasuke’s Amenotejikara is proof of this fact.
Since the ability is tied to the Rinnegan, Sasuke can no longer use this technique afterlosing his dojutsu. While the technique itself is a visual jutsu, it doesn’t require Sasuke to look at the target to swap places, though this doesn’t indicate that the technique isn’t a derivative of the Rinnegan.

Amenotejikara Is Held Back By a Few Weaknesses
On the surface, Amenotejikara seems to be a near-perfect technique with little to no drawbacks, and while this largely holds true, the technique still has a few rough edges. Primarily, the technique is held back by its limited range, as Sasuke has to be rather close to his opponents to swap them to his target location.
Using the technique also takes a significant toll on Sasuke, though this drawback is eventually diminished inBoruto. During theFourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke could only use the technique a handful of times before he had to wait for it to recharge. Moreover, overusing Amenotejikara led to his eyes bleeding, reflecting the taxing nature of this Rinnegan technique.

The Inspiration for Sasuke’s Amenotejikara
Narutois laced with elementsinspired by Eastern mythologiesand Japanese folklore, and Amenotejikara has similar roots. The name of the technique itself is derived from the Shinto deity named Ame-no-Tajikarao, a god known for using brute force to pull out Amaterasu from a cave, which resulted in light being returned to the world.
The deity holds considerable significance within the Shinto religion, especially in relation to other famous gods such as Amaterasu and Omoikane. While the inspiration for Amenotejikara is only limited to its name, the importance of the deity is still reflected in Sasuke’s reliance on the technique in combat throughoutBoruto, becoming one of his primary Rinnegan techniques.
