The games haven’t exactly blown up in popularity, but they are solid picks nonetheless.
The originalCat Questgame was released in 2017 and earned “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews from Steam users. The sequel,Cat Quest 2, was released a couple of years later and enjoyed a similar “Overwhelmingly Positive” reception.Cat Quest 2is a marked improvementover the original in a number of ways, but its most notable upgrade is the addition of co-op multiplayer, giving players the chance to experience the adventure with a friend at their side.
Considering how well-received the first twoCat Questgames were, it’s no surprise that there are many who are looking forward toCat Quest 3’s release on August 8. Based on what’s been shown of the game so far, it looks as though it will be a largely similar experience to the previous two titles, but with some general improvements to go along with the new pirate theme, with the Steam page specifically pointing out its “newly refined combat system” that will include “tighter attack combos and weapon swapping.”
Co-op is a selling point for many gamers, and the inclusion of the feature should go a long way in generating interest inCat Quest 3when it releases on August 8. 2024 has already seen its fair share of notable co-op games released for the Steam platform, including record-breaking new releases likeHelldivers 2andearly access gamePalworld.
