Minecraftis one of the best games on the market for allowing players tocompletely immerse themselves in a fictional world. Acting as a sandbox game, developers at Mojang have regularly attempted to further enhance the game to both appease and excite their fans.

One of the most popular updates throughoutMinecraft’s evolution has seen a variety of new mobs being added to the game. Mojang offers its fans the opportunity to vote for what they want next, but this will always result in one or two candidates being discarded. Creatures are consistently being added to the game’s world, but certain mobs are far more desired than others.

9A Pet Dragon

Upon besting the Ender Dragon in combat, the player will be rewarded with a Dragon Egg. After claiming this item, many flocked to their nearest crafting bench to uncover the means of hatching it but, sadly, doing so was impossible. A future update could finally see players' dreams become a reality, however, but only if this pet dragon serves a purpose.

Unlike its mother, the pet dragon could remain an appropriate size, allowing it to travel alongside the player on their adventures. It could utilize its fire-breathing abilities to attack hostile mobs while soaring from a safe height, rendering cave exploration a far less dangerous task.

8Meerkats

Minecraft Earthis admired by fans of the franchise for allowing them to have a say in what the game updates next. 2018 saw developers asking fans what biome they believed was most deserving of an update, with the Desert being one of three options.

If fans voted to update the Desert instead of the Taiga and Savannah biomes, they would have been gifted with an adorable mob alongside a much-needed biome upgrade. The meerkat didn’t meet the requirements, unfortunately, but that does not negate the possibility for it to return in the future.

7Koalas

Aside from the Panda, there are very few mobs inMinecraftthat interact with the environment in which they are placed. Oftentimes, the placement of a mob in a particular area will harbor no rhyme or reason, but a Koala could finally change this fact. When found, they could be seen climbing the trees of their habitat before locating a comfortable spot to rest on.

Koalas are commonly found in eucalyptus forests, so introducing them would requirea new biome to be implemented also. Their inclusion could pave the way for other creatures native to this biome to join the series too.

6Owls

Minecrafthas incorporated a variety of airborne species into its world’s upper atmosphere throughout its evolution, but most of them are hostile and will not interact politely with the player. The Parrot mob is perhaps the only true means ofgarnering an airborne friendship, but this deserves to be changed.

The owl is a loyal companion to those it deems worthy, so its potential to be a faithful pet is incontrovertible. Like the Parrot, the owl could perch upon the player’s shoulder while they explore, flying away only to briefly examine their surroundings. Being nocturnal animals, these feathered pets would only be discoverable upon nightfall.

5Hamsters

The introduction of the Axolotl marked the first instance wherein a player could carry an animal in their inventory, excluding the less lively chicken egg. With this new feature, developers have opened up a world of possibilities for the future of their game’s mobs.

The introduction of hamsters could provide the player with an exceedingly charming means of companionship. These nocturnal creatures could follow their owner across the vast world until sunrise, where they would promptly drop to the floor in favor of a 12-hour snooze. To spare the player the arduous task of waiting for them to awaken, they could simply place them in their inventory to continue on their ventures.

4Sharks

The vast oceans ofMinecraftpose surprisingly little threat to the player unless of course one happens upon an Ocean Monument. The danger it houses however is confined beneath its thick walls, allowing the player to quickly swim away if they are not up to the challenge.

Many threats lurk beneath the surface of the earth’s crust, so why not apply the same treatment to the sea? The Shark could dwell in the deepest parts of the ocean, rendering finding one a difficult task. Sharks are capable of smelling blood from great distances away, so perhaps it would only become interested in the player after they have received damage.

3Copper Golem

Having been voted out ofthe Caves and Cliffs update, the future of the Copper Golem is currently unknown. Similar to the Iron Golem in appearance, this statue-like being is a frightening sight to behold, but fans ofMinecraftmay never get to see it for themselves.

The Copper Golem was said to come with a few interesting features. Its fascination with the mineral it is made out of would lead it to tamper with the copper scattered across the world. It could even interact with certain copper objects, making it an unusual substitute for Redstone.

2Domesticated Dogs

The Wolf has becomethe staple of a happyMinecrafthome, but fans of the franchise are keen to see it upgraded. The only aspect of the Wolf that can be customized is its collar, which makes sense considering it is a wild animal, but perhaps more should be done with this fan favorite mob.

A new type of canine is due to be implemented and, though many could argue that a domesticated dog has no place inMinecraft’s forest-ridden world, their introduction would be happily welcomed by fans all around.

1Mooblooms

Limited to their depiction inMinecraft Earth, the Moobloom has never had the chance to appear as a mob in the original game. These flower-riddled bovines are commonly found in Flower Forest Biomes, so its transition toMinecraftwould be an easy feat to accomplish.

The Moobloom embraces nature and all animals who dwell in it. Its reveal during the “Minecraft Live: Vote for the Moobloom!” event saw one of these friendly yellow creatures enjoying the company of a nearby bee, making it one of the least hostile presences in-game.
