New Worldis set is on the island continent of Aeternum, a place where plants, animals, minerals, and other mysterious resources thrive. Of course, being curious gamers and not constrained by the usual limits that other MMORPGs have when it comes to professions and classes, most characters cut, mine, and gather all the resources that they can. All of that has to be stored somewhere, and that’s going to be an issue.

Other open-world games likeWorld of WarcraftorRunescapehave centralized storage units like banks. However,New Worlduses a primitive colonial setting. It doesn’t have fancy civilized things like banks. Instead, players need to rely on other features, and sometimes transferring all of that stuff can be confusing and expensive. Here are a few ways to make it easier.
3Why Transfer Storage?
New Worldleans heavily on the open-world and survivalist aesthetic, and the ability to gather resources isn’t limited to class or profession. One of the first things that players learnis to gather a whole lot of materials, which necessitates the need for a place to put them until they can be refined and crafted into weapons, armor, jewelry, or sumptuous meals. Characters can only carry so much, and after a while, everyone needs to stop somewhere and unload.
2Types of Storage
The Local Storage Shed
Players have access to a newStorage Shedin every settlement, but these are stand-alone storage units, which means each one isn’t connected to the others. This is slightly different from other MMORPGs that have a player’s storage in a “bank” or another type of storage that they can access from a variety of locations. It’s possible to transfer items between storage sheds in different cities, butonly if the character’s Faction controls both the citiesand even then, the player has to pay a fee for the transfer.
House Storage
If a player owns a housein the same city, they can furnish it with crafted storage units to act as an extension of their local Storage Shed and access their equipment from home. How many storage units a house can have is determined by the Tier level of the house. A Tier One house can have one unit, a Tier Two can have two, and so it goes up to Tier 5.
These storage units are most often crafted using the Engineering skill in a Workshop, but a wide variety of them also drop from random enemies. Once placed in a house, the player can use them to transfer items from different cities the same way they would use the in-town Storage Shed.

Bag Storage
In any game where crafting is important, there are also a few ways to extend a character’s carrying capacity. Arcanists can makeEncumbrance Potionsto give a character a larger carrying capacity, and those with a high enough Armoring skill can make a variety of Satchels that make it easier to carry as much as possible.

Characters that focus on gathering and crafting can add Perks to those Sachels to make certain raw materials, like ore or wood, lighter to carry. Characters can only transfer materials from their bags to their in-house chest or storage shed manually.
1How To Transfer Storage
The Recall Point Method
The easiest and cheapest method, this is also quite situational but still useful. It only works if the player wants to move storage from one city to another where they’ve already set their recall point or own a house. The character just picks up what they need and teleports back to theirRecall Pointin either an inn or their private home. No matter how much the player is carrying, this method of fast travel is free.
The Transfer Point Method
Recall Points have a cooldown time, which you can buy out using Azoth, but if the player has any spare Azoth they might want to save it for this travel method.Transfer Pointsare another fast travel method, and players can find them in settlements and throughout the wilderness.

They use Azoth as a currency, and the more a player is carrying the more it costs to travel, and the game still has that pesky Azoth cap to consider.
The Pack Mule Method
This is just what it sounds like. Give a character the biggest Satchel or Satchels as possible, load them up, and start walking towards the other settlement. This is easier at lower levels before the player has done a lot of exploring. The upside of this is thatplayers can harvest as they travelprovided they have the carrying capacity.
The Faction Advantage Method
It’s the easiest and generally the cheapest form of storage transfer, and that’s why it’s hardly ever available. Players can transfer items between their Storage Shed or Chests to their storage space in other settlements provided the Faction they belong to also controls both of those settlements. Even then, there’s a cost in gold associated with eachtransfer depending on how much it is; more weight means a more expensive fee.
A handy drop-down menu on the top right of every storage screen shows the name of every settlement along with a symbol for the Faction that currently controls it. Players can view their storage even if they can’t transfer it. If they can, they’ll be prompted to pay a fee to bring the item to their local storage instantly. Despite the cost, it’s worth the convenience charge. This is an MMO and we have better things to do than tidy up clutter!
