Ultimatewill be watching the reveal for the final fighter, other fighting fans will have another title to look out for.Nickelodeon All-Star Brawlcomes out in just a couple of days, but the character showcases have yet to stop rolling in.Nickelodeon All-Star Brawlhas already showcased 16 different character movesets and stages with more teased. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawlis in developmentby Ludosity and Fair Play Labs, and unlikeSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, it will be coming to all the major consoles. The idea of a Nickelodeon fighting game seems a little odd at first, but after the many character reveals, it begins to make a lot more sense. Nickelodeon is home to many strong franchises that have their own TV series, movies, and even video games. Such a popular franchise isAvatar: The Last Airbender.

Aang and Korra were each given a six-minute showcase that went over bothcharacter’s movesets and stages inNickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Korra was shown to be a close-range brawler with special moves that could all be charged. When not charged, the special moves deal less damage and knockback but of course, whether or not a player decides to charge a special move will ultimately depend on the circumstances of the fight. Charging a move too long could leave the player open, for example. Korra looks to deal a lot of knockback as shown in the showcase and could be one of the stronger characters in the title. Her stage is Harmonic Convergence which fans of the series will recognize.
Aang, although an Avatar like Korra, plays quite differently. While Korra seemingly uses all the elements in battle and is more of a brawler, Aang’s playstyle revolves more around air bending and combos. He’s a very mobile fighter that exceeds at aerial combos to keep his opponents off the ground. He doesn’t have much range which can prove a problem versus opponents with reach, but he’s easy to combo with. Even some of his down moves hit the opponent in a way that sends that upwards which helps to extend his combos. Aang’s stage is the Western Air Temple.
Both showcases were quite interesting and are full of tips that fans ofNickelodeon All-Star Brawlwill want to watch in order to better familiarize themselves with the many different characters. These showcases are also a great way for theNickelodeon All-Star Brawlto build hype. Additionally, showing off Aang and Korra so close to the release date is sure to stay fresh in fan’s minds rather than if they revealed their movesets earlier on. These two characters are quite popular, even to those that don’t watch otherNickelodeon series such asTeenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesandSpongeBob.
According to theNickelodeon All-Star Brawlwebsite, the game still has more characters to show off. Although nothing is confirmed, there have been leaks of Troph(another character in theAvataruniverse) making an appearance. Of course with so many different franchises to choose from, it’s possible the next reveal with be outside theAvataruniverse.
