Sakazuki, also known as Akainu, is one of the biggest villains inOne Piece.He was introduced to the fans as one of the Three Admirals before the timeskip and he took part in the Paramount War, where he played a major role. Being an Admiral, it was expected of him to be quite powerful, however, he exceeded all expectations when he revealed his Devil Fruit power, the Magu Magu no Mi, to the fans.

Who Is Sakazuki?
Sakazuki was mentioned before fans actually got to see him. His first mention came during the Long Ring Long Island arc through Nico Robin. Later on, fans finally got to see him during the Paramount War, where he left a lasting impression. As the strongest of the Three Admirals,Akainu took on the strongest of the Whitebeard Pirates, Whitebeard, by himself. He did incredibly well against him in this battle and it was an extraordinary scene for the fans to witness, given how strong Whitebeard was. Sakazuki managed to fight against Whitebeard to a great degree and even injure him. He punched a hole in his chest and, at the same time, blew half of his face off and all of that was only possible because Sakazuki possessed the powers of the Magu Magu no Mi.
As expected, he also has a very strong Haki. Being an Admiral, it is expected of him to be a user of two of the Haki types, at the very least, however, since he occupies the position of Fleet Admiral currently, him having access to the Color of the Supreme King isn’t out of the equation either. No matter how strong his Haki is, the strongest weapon that Sakazuki possesses up his sleeve is certainly his incredible Devil Fruit. In fact, in the world ofOne Piece, magma burns so hot that it can even burn fire itself, which is how Akainu was able to defeat Ace.
How Strong Is Sakazuki?
Sakazuki is certainly among the strongest characters in theOne Pieceworld, potentially just as strong as the Yonko. For one, he has already fought one of the Four Emperors of the Sea and fared incredibly well. If that wasn’t enough, Sakazuki possesses a fruit that gives him the offensive output of the highest order. This means that his Devil Fruit cannot be bested by others when it comes to launching powerful attacks. This alone makes him stand tall among the strongest of theOne Pieceworld. Furthermore, his standing as the Fleet Admiral of the Navy also means that he is the strongest in the entire organization. The previous Fleet Admiral was said to be a rival to the Pirate King and that means Sakazuki himself should be strong enough to fight against the Four Emperors.
Under his regime, the Marines moved their HQ to the New World to combat the influence of the Yonko much better. Although he has spent the vast majority of the time in his office after the timeskip, Sakazuki has most likely strengthened his abilities even further. Now thatOne Pieceis in the Final Saga, fans can expect him to play a much bigger role in the story and display what he’s truly capable of. Fans recently got a glimpse of his powers being used after the timeskip when he fought against Kuma. He was effortlessly able to blow half of his face off and even melt one of his legs. As the story proceeds, fans will most definitely see more of Akainu.
Magu Magu no Mi Awakening
As One Piece continues, new powers are being introduced to the story at all times. One of the most interesting abilities that Oda has introduced after the timeskip is Devil Fruit Awakening. This power lets Devil Fruit users take their already amazing abilities a step beyond. Luffy, one of the Four Emperors of the Sea, recently managed to Awaken his Devil Fruit. This gave him incredible power and made him the Sun God, Nika. His powers proved to be great enough for him to best Kaido and that just goes to show how dangerous Devil Fruit Awakening is going to be. Akainu is surely among the most prominent Devil Fruit users in One Piece, so, for him, having Devil Fruit Awakening should be a real possibility.
If the Magu Magu no Mi is awakened, fans might see a whole new level of power being exhibited by Akainu. How exactly Logia Awakenings work is something fans do not know at the moment. However, it is only a matter of time before Oda reveals the first Logia Awakening. Fans might have already seen a glimpse of it when Sakazuki and Kuzan fought against each other on Punk Hazard. Their fight, which lasted 10 days, permanently changed the atmosphere of the island. Half of it was turned permanently to ice, while the other half became a volcanic land. This might bethe aftermath of Devil Fruit Awakeningand a sign that Akainu possesses it.
