However, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The World Government has committed many atrocities that has helped it to stay in power. The top brass within the organization consider the deaths of countless people one of their biggest achievements.

The nation of Ohara prioritized knowledge above everything. The scholars within the country were obsessed with learning. They went to great lengths to obtain information. They risked their lives, which is why they decided to break the taboo ofanalyzing the Ponegylphs. The scholars were able to decipher the writing on the steles, but they couldn’t protect their secret, and eventually, the World Government came to know about the scholars' transgression.
The higher-ups sent the Marines to the island, and after finding the evidence, they commenced the Buster Call, in which the entire population was wiped out except for Robin. Even the evacuation ship was destroyed by the Marines. This particular incident allowed the World Government to keep its secret from coming to light. This can be considered one of the organization’s biggest achievements so far.
5Covering Up Cobra’s Murder

Nefertari Cobra was the kingof Alabasta. He was the descendant of the Nefertari Lily, who ruled the kingdom many centuries before the current timeline. Cobra was an outstanding ruler who took care of his subjects. He was willing to put himself in danger in order to protect his people.
During the latest Reverie, Cobra sought an audience with the Five Elders as he wanted to discuss what happened to his ancestor, Lily. As he began to question them, Imu emerged from the shadows. Cobra was shocked to see Imu, and he realized that his fate was sealed. Sabo tried to rescue Cobra, but the Five Elders proved to be too much even for him. Ultimately, Cobra decided to help Sabo escape, but it cost him his life. The Five Elders killed the ruler of Alabasta and pinned the blame on Sabo.

Gol D. Roger set out withhis crew with the aim of claiming the One Piece. When he reached Laugh Tale, not only did he find the treasure, but he also learned the true history of the world. This made him the biggest threat to the World Government and it tried everything to eliminate him. Luckily for the organization, Roger turned himself in to the Marines.
But his bloodline lived through Portgas D. Ace. The young pirate went on to make a name for himself and ultimately joined the Whitebeard Pirates. Ace’s reputation continued to increase, and the World Government was wary of this. Fortune smiled on the organization yet again when Blackbeard captured Ace. The World Government wasted no time in issuing a date of execution for Ace. The announcement led to a war with the Whitebeard Pirates, in which the World Government came out on top.
3Defeated The Rocks Pirates
Beating Their Biggest Opponent
The Rocks Pirates were the strongest pirate crew of their time.Led by Rocks D. Xebec, they gained a great deal of notoriety in next to no time. The crew followed Rocks everywhere, no matter how dangerous the task was. Rocks wanted to rule the world, and he was very likely digging into the past of the World Government.
Rocks' ambition proved to be his bane when he tried to attack the Celestial Dragons in God Valley. However, he had no idea that it would be the last time that he would ever do something like this. The Marines, the World Government, and the Roger Pirates fought the Rocks Pirates and defeated them. Rocks was announced dead, and shortly afterward, the crew disbanded.

According to legends, there used to be a mighty kingdom that was much more technologically advanced than the rest of the world. This caused the other nations to seethe with jealousy, as they couldn’t handle not having something similar. Ultimately, the 20 kingdoms decided to band together andeliminate the Ancient Kingdom.
Following their victory, the World Government became the highest authority in the world. To cover up the evidence, the World Government possibly destroyed the island and killed everyone who lived on it. When Lily released the Poneglyphs, the organization issued a strict ban on reading them, which helped it hide the truth.

The World Government has committed many atrocities over the years. Due to its power, no one dares to question the organization, and those who do are met with a tragic end. However, the World Government wouldn’t have managed to stay in power for this long if the entire world knew about its dark side, which is why it has gone to great lengths to keep people oblivious.
From killing famous people to erasing entire kingdoms, the World Government has done everything to remain relevant. Given the amount of time and effort that it has expended, this is definitely the biggest achievement of the World Government.
