Esports teams don’t all stick to the competitive gameplay scene and somelike Team SoloMid, NRG, 100 Thieves, and others branch out into content creation by signing popular Twitch and YouTube streamers. OpTic Gaming has just confirmed that it has four major signings from Twitch and YouTube that may contribute to a robust content pipeline. This includes the well-known Vtuber CodeMiko who’s often doing reaction content or dabbling in a wide variety of things like another new signee, JustAMinx. The group of four new Optic Gaming members brings with them their own impressive communities of over four million viewers combined which may mean fresh eyeballs on the growing esports brand that seems to be expanding its content creator team. Although it’s likely that the four signees will join OpTic Gaming’s content creation team, they could move to one of the esports lineups in the future if the coaches think they’d be a good fit forcompetitiveCall of Duty,Halo Infinite, orValorant. Because the four may remain on Twitch and YouTube after being signed by OpTic Gaming, their communities may end up seeing more of JustAMinx, CodeMiko, Alexandra Botez, and Andrea Botez depending on what the OpTic Gaming contract calls for.
CodeMiko, JustAMinx, and the Botez Sisters are former members of Envy Gaming which has been absorbed by OpTic and sparked the company’s rebranding to what it’s known as today. The friend group started a content creator house in Los Angeles earlier this year, but it’s currently unclear if they will remain at this Hollywood Hills location or relocate to Texas to join the rest ofOpTic Gamingin Frisco. Similar to other content houses, the Envy squad has been able to brainstorm new ideas together, help record clips, and occasionally make appearances in each other’s videos.
