Overwatch 2players have uncovered yet another glitch in the game, allowing Ana’s Ultimate ability to rack up immense amounts of damage mitigation in some circumstances. As it turns out,Overwatch 2’s sharp-eyed support hero is capable of blocking out more hits than the game’s entire roster of tank characters, much to the surprise of fans of the popular online FPS game.

WhileOverwatch 2has seen a list of bugssince the game’s release just over a week ago, but this issue is actually one of the most harmless discovered so far. While Ana’s Ultimate ability, Nano Boost, is intended to grant 50% damage reduction to the targeted ally, a combo that was accidentally found by an unsuspecting player led to an interesting exploit.

A Reddit post from user TheLizardKing1216 provides a screenshot of their post-game stats, flaunting an absurd 5,000,209 mitigated damage, which is far more damage than is ordinarily dealt in anentire match withinOverwatch 2. While the phenomenon has little effect beyond an amusing statistic on the game’s scoreboard, some members of the game’s community believe that this exploit could be used to easily complete gameplay challenges related to mitigating damage.

Although some have been left scratching their heads over this, a few knowledgeable players are confident they’ve figured out the cause of the bug. WhileD.Va appears immune to her own Ultimate ability, it still causes the game to register 10 million points of damage to herself upon using it. Players speculate that this amount is halved when D.Va benefits from the damage reduction applied by Ana’s Ultimate, thereby reducing the inflicted damage to 5 million and mitigating the remaining 5 million points of damage.

While many players have seen the oddity as a chance to joke about Ana being the most overpowered healer inOverwatch 2, many others are not so impressed to see yet another bug added to the pile that’s been steadily growing since the game’s launch. It’s no secret that the first couple of weeks for the game have been riddled with server issues, abnormally long queue times, andbugged heroes such as Bastion.

While some disappointed players seek answers as to why the sequel brought so many issues to an otherwise stable game, there’s no doubt that theBlizzard is working hard on fixing these problemsas they arise. With Blizzard focused on bringing patches for more urgent issues than Ana’s damage mitigation glitch, players will likely be able to take the opportunity to complete their damage mitigation challenges quickly for a while longer.

Overwatch 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
