Season 9 ofOverwatch 2is about halfway through its run. On March 12, the shooter is implementing a sizable midseason patch that is makingadjustments to roughly half ofOverwatch 2’s roster. That said, Wrecking Ball is not among the heroes being adjusted in this patch. This is because, according to game director Aaron Keller in arecentOverwatch 2Director’s Take blog, the tank hero is going to be receiving a “small rework” in Season 10. While the exact details of these changes are currently unknown, fans can expect the chaotic critter’s kit to receive a tune-up when Season 10 begins on or around April 7.
Wrecking Ball Getting a Rework in OW2 Season 10
Among all the heroes inOverwatch 2, Wrecking Ball is one of the hardest to master. His vertical and horizontal mobility give the hero a unique play style with a high learning curve. What’s more, adapting to the unconventional tank makes Wrecking Ball difficult to play alongside in Quick Play, which ledOverwatch 2to consider a rework for him. Now it seems those changes are right around the corner.
While players will have to wait a few weeks to see the full scope of Wrecking Ball’s rework,Overwatch 2’s past comments about the Tank might give them an idea on what to expect. Previously, lead hero designer Alec Dawson said his biggest concern regarding Wrecking Ball is that he was designed to be played alongside another tank inOverwatch 1, when teams had six people. Fans can probably expect Wrecking Ball’s rework to give him more of a field presence to allow him to better operate as the soletank on the team inOverwatch 2.
Season 10 will also be bringing thefirst newOverwatch 2hero in 2024. Venture, a subterranean explorer and the first non-binary hero in the game, joins theOverwatch 2roster at the start of the new season. Fans can expect to see the details on their abilities and backstory over the course of the next month.
