AnOverwatch 2player has noticed an interesting detail about the new Overwatch League Kiriko skin, as the color of her kitsune fox seems to be changing compared to the other versions of the hero. This exclusive Kiriko skin comes with otherOverwatch 2rewards that Blizzard gifted to players who watched the 2022 Overwatch League season, which ended on November 4.
Despite watching the games as instructed by Blizzard, manyplayers didn’t get their Overwatch League Tokensfor over a month after the end of the season. These tokens are an in-game currency to purchase specific Overwatch League skins for all heroes, including the newcomers Kiriko, Sojourn, and Junker Queen. AsOverwatch 2players are now receiving their tokens, one of them noticed an interesting detail about the new Kiriko skin.

Reddit user kblankz reported that the color of Kiriko’s fox changes with the new Overwatch League skin. This kitsune spirit, whichhelps Kiriko heal her teammates inOverwatch 2and symbolizes her ultimate ability, is a light brown and yellow ghost in the original version of the skin. However, the away version of this Overwatch League skin turns Kiriko’s fox white, with grey patterns on its legs, ears, and around its eyes. Its claws turn from yellow to white, and the scroll it holds in its mouth bears the same color.
Since she joined the roster ofOverwatch 2last October, Kiriko has received various skins to customize her appearance. Players can change Kiriko’s traditional Japanese clothing to an athleisure outfit or even turn the support hero into a witch. However, none of those skins drastically changed the color of her kitsune spirit, despite the fox being at her side in all battles. Only theHinotori version of Kiriko inOverwatch 2slightly changed the design of her fox companion, making its legs and back a darker shade and adding a metal-like plate on its head along with black-tipped ears.
Overwatch 2fans praised this new skin, as it offers a new look at Kiriko’s kitsune spirit. This fox plays a major role inOverwatch 2, as it is at the core of Kiriko’s ultimate ability, Kitsune Rush. For 10.5 seconds, the fox spirit rushes forward, increasing the movement, attack speed, and cooldowns of all of Kiriko’s allies that follow its path. This ultimate ability can createdeadly combos inOverwatch 2, especially when it is paired with other DPS abilities such as Soldier: 76’s Tactical Visor.
Overwatch 2is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
