WhileGhost of Tsushimahas dominated the mainstream conversation, as the game’s launch on the same date,Paper Mario: The Origami Kingstill has Nintendo fans excited, and that excitement will be rewarded with some not-so-subtle Easter eggs. Specifically, footage has surfaced of Mario trying on hats that are Samus' helmet from theMetroidgames, and Donkey Kong’s head.

Fans may remember the Samus head appearing in thePaper Mario: The Origami Kingtrailera few months back, but the Donkey Kong head is a surprise. Doubtlessly, there will be more Easter eggs that surface after the game officially launches, after all, Nintendo has a tendency to crossreference its major franchises any time it releases a new game, it’s a large part of the reason some enemies have similar designs in multiple franchises, especially in Nintendo’s older titles.
