Persona 5has been one of Atlus' most successful titles to date. The company capitalized on the game’s success right away, especially with other games. Not only was thePersona 5cast included inPersona Q2, they got their own sequel inPersona 5: Scramble, whichhad a truly explosive trailer.

What makesPersona 5: Scramblestand out is how much its gameplay differs fromPersona 5. WhileP5sticks to the traditionalPersonaformula in place sincePersona 3,Scrambleis different.ScramblehasPersona 5’s returning cast and story, but plays like aDynasty Warriorsgame. It was created in cooperation withDynasty Warriors' developer, Koei Tecmo. The player takes control of the Phantom Thieves after the events ofPersona 5, fighting mysterious enemies across Japan.

Many fans ofPersona, or just ofPersona 5specifically, have been eager to get their hands onScramble. While the game released on February 20 in Japan, there has been no official western release announcement. However, it seems that some inside information has confirmed that said Western release will happen down the road. Several sources, from Twitter to the Persona Central website, have translated Koei Tecmo’s fiscal report for 2019. The report outlines several upcoming plans the company has, one of which indicates thatthe western release ofPersona 5: Scrambleis planned.

Since this is a translation of an internal document, this is not considered an official announcement. Also, while the release is stated as planned, there is no solid release date mentioned. So while fans can expect the release ofScramblein the west, there’s no certainty as to when they can expect it. The plans are subject to change of course, but it seems unlikely. Everything elseP5related, fromPersona 5 RoyaltoJoker’s amiibo, are already either globally available or on their way to being so.

Furthermore, it cannot be overstated howsuccessful bothScrambleandRoyalhave been financially.Persona 5 Royalwas, for the most part, very similar toPersona 5, just with more content added. Yet even people who purchased the originalP5thought it worth the purchase. Fans are, without a doubt, eager for morePersona 5content, andScrambleis no exception.

Whether the western release will be a dub or only subtitled with the original Japanese cast (or have an option for both) is not yet known. Since the game is currently released in Japan, the story is available for anyone willing to go through a translation. Still, many fans in the west are likely holding off on spoiling thestory and bosses ofScrambleuntil it makes its way there. Hopefully the western release comes sooner rather than later.
