Summary
Persona 6is targeting a 2025 release window, according to a well-known Atlus leaker. Their claim matches an early September report from another industry insider that suggested thePersona 6release plans were pushed back to 2025.
Atlus confirmed it’s working on the next mainlinePersonagame back in July 2021. And while the studio has offered virtually no other information about the project ever since, the game has been the subject of numerous leaks that emerged online over the following two years. Many of thoserumors pointed toPersona 6targeting a late 2024 release, with the first reports to the contrary surfacing in mid-2023.

Persona 6 Will Reportedly Release in 2025, But Its Reveal Time Remains Undecided
Another such claim has now arrived from Midori, one of the most prolific Atlus leakers on the internet. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, under their online handle MbKKssTBhz5, Midori recently said thatPersona 6will release in 2025. This bit of unofficial insight into the project dovetails with the insider’s late June update that saw themclaimPersona 6will be announced in 2024. However, Atlus has yet to decide on the game’s exact reveal time, according to Midori’s latest leak.
Party-Based Persona Game Code-Named ‘Asa’ Is Said To Be Coming in 2024
Aside fromPersona 6, the insider also reflected on thePersona 5: The Phantom X—AKAPersona 5X: Phantom of the Night—mobile spin-off, stating that the game is still targeting a 2024 release. Ditto for the rumored party-basedPersonagame code-named “Asa,” as per the same source. As for Atlus’s other projects, Midori said that theMetaphorJRPG also remains on course to hit the market in 2024, in accordance with its original release window that was announced at the June 2023 Xbox Games Showcase.
Another Shin Megami Tensei Game Is Also Rumored To Be in the Works
Finally, the insider reiterated that Atlus already has anotherShin Megami Tenseigame in the works. Taking that claim at face value and given its wording, it’s plausible that the mysterious project won’t be part of thePersonafranchise, which is nowadays treated as its own thing despite technically being anSMTspin-off series. But whether that rumored title isSMT 6or something completely different is unclear. While fans are still waiting for Atlus to portSMT 5outside the confines of the Switch, this unannounced project ostensibly isn’t merely another version of the 2021 RPG, especially since Midori already hinted at the game back in September by describing it as “connected” to the fifth numberedSMTentry.
As for the next mainlinePersonagame, one key piece of information that’s still missing concerns its target platforms; although many recent Atlus titles likeSoul Hackers 2,Persona 3 Reload, andPersona 5 Tacticahave either already received day one multi-platform releases or will be treated to such launches in the near future, there have been someindications thatPersona 6will debut as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
