A well-knownPersonaleaker shares more details regarding Atlus' current plans, which include possible remakes of the first two games in the series. This reliable leaker has been providing information to fans in recent months, giving insight into current projects in development at the Japanese developer. This leaker has come forward again to clarify some details about what she posted.

Known as MbKKssTBhz5 on Twitter, aka Midori, she had been sharing information with fans about the long-rumored sequel, such as thepossible release window forPersona 6, along with other spin-off projects in the pipeline. One of these questions was regarding any possible remakes that Atlus has in development. According to her, Atlus and Sega are experimenting with several remake ideas for their various franchises. However, aside from thePersona 3 Reloadremake that is set for 2024, nothing of that same scale is in development currently. Midori notes that despite that, Atlus really does want to make aPersona 1and2remake, but she doesn’t know if one is currently being worked on right now. She does claim that there is a game next year that will release that contains characters from those two games, known as “Persona Asa,” as she stated previously.

Midori states that Atlus' plans change frequently due to a variety of factors, but more spin-off games that use the previousPersonagames in them are possible. The reason, according to her, is that Atlus wishes to make these spin-offs oncePersona 6comes out, as it will make it easier to expand upon the sixth game and also provide a reason to revisit these older titles. This reinforces her previous leak regarding the sixth game, where each project will be building towards the game’s release possibly in 2026.

Fans believe that the originalPersonaandPersona 2duology desperately needs a remakefor the modern era. Not only are both games difficult to come by, but one of the re-releases of the duology was never brought over outside of Japan. Due to their obscurity, they are rarely acknowledged by gamers outside the hardcorePersonafans. With Atlus apparently developing a game that will incorporate these early characters, it might be best to have a remake of their games too.
