A TikTok user named pen_paladin shared theirPokemon Legends: Mewgame idea in a video. Just as Hisui was the setting ofPokemon Legends: Arceus, pen_paladin’s game would send players back in time to a feudal-era version of the Kanto region. The player would be accompanied by either Chespin, Torchic, or Squirtle, with the Tiny Turtle Pokemon being the only starterPokemon native to the Kanto region. Feudal Kanto would see new regional forms for Chesnaught, Blaziken, and Blastoise as well, each based on the traditional Japanese martial arts of judo, karate, and sumo wrestling respectively. The main arc ofPokemon Legends: Mewand Feudal Kanto would be a faction-based conflict led by characters resembling Giovanni and Lance, both of which would respectively have regional variants of Persian and Dragonite as their main Pokemon.
Just as Volo was the surprise villain ofPokemonLegends: Arceus, pen_paladin chose a witch resembling the Gym Leader Sabrina to fulfill that role. This witch would use dark magic to split Mew’s spirit in half, with a ghastly version of Mewtwo serving as the final boss ofPokemon Legends: Mew. Were this to happen in any official game, it would go down asone of the darkestPokemongamesin recent memory. In the comments,Pokemonfans remained divided on the idea of returning to Kanto, but some remained intrigued by pen_paladin’s idea for a Mew-focused game.
The idea ofPokemonregions set in different time periods remains a strong point of fan speculation, with some fans hoping for aPokemon Legendsgame based in regions like Unova. It remains to be seen what The Pokemon Company will do in the future.
