Summary

One creativePokemonfan has created a cute animation that features the Grass/Fighting-type pocket creature Breloom. Players who are fond ofGen 3 pocket monsterswill probably enjoy seeing how the Mushroom Pokemon has come to life in this fan’s animated work.

Even though The Pokemon Company has continued to produce thePokemonanime over the yearswhile also making a variety of different animated works around the franchise, there are still some fans who take their admiration forPokemonto the next level by animating their own pieces. Making objects move smoothly on-screen is a highly technical skill, so when fans take the time to create their own about a specific game or anime, it shows just how much love they have for their fandom. The same can likely be said about this fan and the animated work they did forPokemon’s Breloom.

Showcasing their animation skills on Reddit, user ardentROB posted a short 2D video of a running Breloom. According to the Redditor, this is a “rough animation,” seeing how thePokemondoes not have any color shading and the background is just a simple gray color. However, ardentROB’s animation work is still quite impressive. Breloom’s run looks smooth and believable, with the pocket creature’s body bobbing up and down and its tail wagging in time with its steps. The artist also added little details such as the moving ground below the Pokemon and the grass flecks kicked up by its feet to make the animation feel more seamless.

ArdentROB did get compliments for their animated work on the Reddit thread, but several noted how the artist chose to have theGrass/Fighting-type Pokemon Breloomrun instead of hop. According to some fans, the pocket creature is known to hop like a kangaroo, specifically inPokemon GOandPokemonScarlet and Violet. However, this difference does not seem to deter the admiration of the fans, and seems to have given them a different point of view when it comes to Breloom.

According to ardentROB’s social media profiles, their work consists mostly of 2D animation and 2D art pieces. One of their major projects seems to focus on using tarot cards and its Arcana as inspiration for originalPokemonfan art and design concepts. Hopefully they continue more of their animation work and that they share them with thePokemonfan base. Given how excited fellow Breloom fans were about their rough animation, they would probably be happy to see a more completed product from the artist.
