Recently released spinoffPokemon Legends: Arceusputs the spotlight on the titular legendary Pokemon, sending players back in time to the ancient realm of Hisui by the will of none other than Arceus itself. Of course, Arceus can eventually be caught inPokemon Legends: Arceus, but achieving this requires fans to catch every other Pokemon available in Hisui. One fan, dissatisfied with doing all that work to only catch a single Arceus, came up with a rather unorthodox solution.
Pokemon Legends: Arceusrevisits the Sinnoh region, which was based on the Japanese island of Hokkaido and first introduced in main series titlesPokemon DiamondandPokemon Pearl. In a premodern version of Sinnoh called Hisui, players join up with the Survey Corps of Jubilife Village and work to observe and catalog all 242 Pokemon available in the region. In addition to returning Pokemon from several titles in the series,Pokemon Legends: Arceusalso features regional variants and evolutions of previous Pokemon, such asWyrdeer, a Psychic-type evolution of Generation 2’s Stantler.

Recently, a freeupdate to the Pokemon Home servicegave players the ability to transfer Pokemon to and fromPokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus.A Reddit user going by u/Billybobjoebob took advantage of this to transfer two additional Arceus into the game. As players are only able to catch a single Arceus in this title, the two Arceus must have previously been caught in either anotherLegends: Arceussave file or a differentPokemongame in which Arceus appears, such asPokemon Diamond, Pokemon Pearl, their remakes, or evenPokemon GO.The user showed off all three Arceus standing in the pen in Jubilife Village, jokingly referring to them as “the Council.”
In addition to bringing extra Arceus and other Pokemon into the series' newest title, players who transfer at least one Pokemon fromLegends: Arceusinto Pokemon Home can receive a free Mystery Gift containingRowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott. These three Pokemon, which originated from three different Generations, were chosen as the starter trio forPokemon Legends: Arceusdue to their relationship to various elements of Hokkaido culture: archery, volcanoes, and sea otters respectively. The free Pokemon received in Home can be sent to any main series title except forPokemon Let’s Go PikachuandPokemon Let’s Go Eevee.
It has not yet been announced whetherPokemon Homewill release further updates to provide compatibility withPokemon Scarlet and Violet, the upcoming main series titles which are slated to debut in late 2022. However, the update that addedPokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceusto Pokemon Home reaffirmed the service’s commitment to partnering with and supporting all modernPokemongames, leaving a distinct possibility thatScarlet and Violetwill be included.
