Pokemonfans across the globe are eagerly waiting forPokemon Scarlet and Violet, which will be the firstPokemongame from the ninth generation. The game is scheduled to release in November and brings several new additions that weren’t seen in previousPokemonvideo games while also keeping many of the core elements of the franchise.
The most notable change inPokemon Scarlet and Violetis the open-world gameplay consisting of an urban area and wilderness, with players navigating between the two effortlessly. While some previous titles from thePokemonfranchise featured a semi-open world setting,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill have a truly expansive open-world, allowing players to explore the different areas at their own pace. Many fans believe that the addition of theopen world inPokemon Scarlet and Violetis a logical stepforward for the franchise and could be seen in future games.

Moreover, like other titles from the franchise,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill introduce quite a few new pocket monsters. These include starter Pokemon like Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, as well as legendary creatures like Koraidon and Miraidon. Besides these,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill add Lechonk and Smoliv, both of whom have already amassed a huge fan base and have already been the subject of fan-created artworks and paintings. OnePokemonfan added Lechonk to their sweatshirt, while another designed a 3D figurine of Smoliv. Following the footsteps of these talented artists, one Redditor has created fan art depicting both of these pocket monsters in a rather unusual setting.
Reddit user MajimartBCN recently uploaded an image that shows Lechonk and Smoliv together. Interestingly, the picture shows Lechonk on the prowl to attack Smoliv, possibly to eat the smaller plant-type Pokemon. Naturally, Smoliv is shown in tears and fleeing for its life as Lechonk stares at it viciously, looking for an opportunity to pounce. The Reddit community praised MajimartBCN’s creation, while many speculate this kind of encounter could be a regular occurrence inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.
For those who don’t know, Lechonk is an upcoming pocket monster whose name is derived fromlechón, which is Spanish for a piglet. The Spanish-based nomenclature of Lechonk suggeststhatPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill take place in the Iberian peninsula; however, the developers have not confirmed this as of yet.
Meanwhile, Smoliv is a plant/normal-type Pokemon based on an olive. It has a round green body sitting on top of two tiny legs and black beady eyes with a few leaves surrounding a yellow fruit. It is unknown at this point whether Smoliv evolves into any other Pokemon, but this hasn’t stopped fans from speculating. One imaginativefan has come up with a distinct evolution for Smoliv, a fire/grass type Pokemon called Olivolitil.
