Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siegeis getting another pack of DLC, adding new cosmetics based on WWE stars Rhea Ripley and Roman Reigns. This comes shortly after the release ofthe Year 8 Season 2.3 Update.
First dropped in 2015 (2020–2022 for certain platforms),Rainbow Six Siegeis a reboot ofRainbow Six, a series of tactical first-person shooters loosely based on the novel of the same name by acclaimed American author Tom Clancy. It differentiates itself from previous entries, as well as other shooters, via its lack of a prominent narrative and gameplay modeled after real-life counterterrorism organizations. Amid its mostly positive reception, the game has been criticized for its lack of content at release, but has rectified it with several DLC packs in the eight years since its release.

The officialRainbow Six SiegeTwitter account posted a 42-second clip detailing the new DLC. It shows cinematic footage of the character Saif Al Hadid, otherwise known asOryx who debuted inRainbow Six Siege’s Operation Void Edge update, wearing the classic outfit of WWE athlete Roman Reigns. Soon after, Eliza “Ash” Cohen shows up wearing the trademark look of wrestler Rhea Ripley. Each takes their turns performing a mixture of martial arts and dancing inside an empty wrestling arena with pink pyrotechnics, all the while hard rock music blasts in the background. No gameplay is shown off in this mini-trailer, however.
It would certainly not be first timea video game has crossed over with World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., amid the latter’s increased outreach to younger demographics in recent years. Fans in the comments seemed near-unanimously on board with these additions, calling Ripley and Reigns the GOATs of the WWE. Several posted gameplay screenshots including the skins, and some even suggested the developers add skins of other wrestlers, such as the WWE’s Kane. That said, there were some detractors who criticized the perceived low effort into the costume designs, and some mockingly compared the game toFortnitesimply for adding costumes from other IPs.
Crossovers are always cool to see in fictional media, be it character skins or even full non-canon side campaigns. Other video games use these events as a major selling point, and evenRainbow Six Siegehas released other WWE skinsin the past. It should be interesting to see whether it adds more WWE skins in the future, or even branches out into another property.
