The remake ofResident Evil 4drops on March 24, but that isn’t stopping people from leaking information beforehand, as a recent video shows a cutscene with the villainous Albert Wesker. While the the firstAlone in the Darkis said to be the original survival horror game, at least for early 3D releases, it was 1996’sResident Evilthat popularized the genre. While Capcom’s series had a bit of a lull several years back, the franchise is in great shape these days.
Part of the reason it’s still going strong is the cast of memorable characters. Along with heroes like Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield, there are also some notable villains, and perhaps no antagonist is more infamous thanAlbert Wesker and his vital role inResident Evil. A firm favorite in the series, Wesker has appeared in a number of mainlineREgames and some spin-offs, includingThe Umbrella ChroniclesandCode Veronica X.

While there’s been no word on whether the S.T.A.R.S. traitor will be in the remake ofResident Evil 4, a video posted to TikTok by user darkmangames1 appears to show Albert Wesker in a scene with Ada Wong. In true B-movie adversary style, the sunglasses-wearing double agent has some cheesy dialog as he admonishes Wong for asking too many questions. It should be noted that this has not been identified by Capcom or anyone tied to the upcoming game as an official cutscene, but if this footage is genuine, it would confirm Wesker’s appearance in the remake. Theleaked footage of Albert Wesker can be viewed on TikTok.
One thing that has been noted by a few people on Reddit is that the character doesn’t sound like the work of DC Douglas, who voiced him inRE5.Resident Evil’s Albert Wesker has had many voice actors, including Connor Fogarty who took on the role for his appearance inDead by Daylight. Other commenters in the thread remain skeptical whether the TikTok video represents actual footage fromResident Evil 4, but time will tell on that front.
As one of themost beloved entries in theResident Evilfranchise, the original 2005 installment has become something of an icon among the horror community. It may have been a precursor to the more action-orientated fifth and sixth games, but its switch to a dynamic camera and move away from pure survival horror set it apart from its predecessors while making a huge impact on the genre.
Resident Evil 4releases on June 16, 2025, for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
