The walls are closing in onRamon Salazar. Up against the Castle’s deadly contraptions, Leon seeks to bring an end to the Salazar bloodline on his quest to save Ashley from the clutches of the Los Illuminados cult inChapter 12ofResident Evil 4. This guide will go over the details of the chapter, helping players overcome the Castle segment ofResident Evil 4.

Clock Tower
Beginning on the platform whereLeon fought Krauser, pass between some crates and take the elevator on the left, leading back to the castle Ballroom. Now, behind a previously locked gate, Leon cantake the ornate gondola on the leftbeside the Merchant stall to reach the clock tower.
On the other side of the chasm, take the stairs and head through the large double doors where another cutscene will greet players. Fighting through castellans, head upstairs at the back of the building when a statue of Ramon in the center of the room will start spewing fire.
Waiting at the top of the stairs for the fire to pass by, take an immediate left and go up the ladder; at this point, the statue will rise. When it does,drop back down and get an angle on the rotating head, shooting the barrel in the back to destroy it.
With the statue down, continue up the Clock Tower until a cutscene plays of a Zealot releasing a spiked ball. Run back down the stairs and back onto the wooden platform while the balls roll by.
As Leon proceeds upstairs,take cover by pressing against balconiesto avoid being hit by the trap. Further up, Leon will be ambushed bysome Ganados in a cage; dodge their grab attack or quickly break free, running into the cage while the ball passes.
Reaching the top of the stairs, kill the Zealot using the lever before more enemies come up after Leon. Now, players canuse the lever themselves to crush any pursuers. Once they’re dealt with, drop down the ladder and take the elevator up.
On the ride up, Leon will be forced to take on a large group of castellans,joined by Crimson Zealotswho threaten to stop him in his tracks. If the player can successfully reach the top without the lift stopping once, they may be rewarded with the Capacity Compliance trophy.
At the top, take the door out to the scaffolding on the clock face. Go left and down the ladder, heading around the tower and taking out theArcher Ganadosahead. Making sure towalk slowly across the rickety planks, take a left upon reaching the other side to find a save room. Outside, take the path down into the cavern and go through the double doors on the balcony to begin a battle with Ramon Salazar.
Ancient Chantry
At the beginning of the fight, Salazar will scurry around the arena spitting explosive globules on the floor. Following him around anddetonating them with the handgunwill save some hassle and avoid damage later.
Next, Ramon will begin spewing black acid at Leon;take cover around corners and wait for him to stop. When an opening appears, shoot him while his body remains exposed to stun him, allowing for a melee attack. In retaliation, Ramon will begin spewing even more black acid, so be sure to move out of the way, using pillars and bridges to avoid damage.
With his vomiting fit done, he will start charging at Leon with his maw open.Shooting him before he attacksis a great way to deal damage and prevent his attack. Occasionally, Ramon will close the distance and ready himself for a fierce close-range kill. Run far away to avoid being instantly killed. As always, if players are low on resources, crates in the room should contain some useful items to help them get through the fight.
Keeping dodging his acid attacks, destroying his bombs, and interrupting his close-range lunges. After stabbing him enough times, Salazar should fall. But, if players want to avoid all that hassle,just throw an egg at him.
Dock
Head across the drawbridge that has now opened at the far end of the Chantry and go outside,taking the stairs down along the battlements and into an elevator. Seeing Ashley being taken away by Krauser aboard a speedboat, walk through the linear tunnels to the dock at the end to take the last remaining boat,leaving Castle Salazar behindand ending the chapter.
