Riverdaleisn’t a show known particularly for the high quality of writing exhibited throughout. However, the sometimes cheesy, overly dramatic style has always managed to create some of the more memorable high-school show quotes of recent times.

Veronica In Riverdale

This is especially true in the case of Veronica Lodge, who has always managed to clap back and come out with some of the truly strangest, and most wonderful, quotes inRiverdalehistory. Constantly responding to all comers with her unique brand of ice-cold cynicism, Veronica is a truly vicious customer.

7“I Don’t Follow Rules, I Make Them.”

Veronica has always been a character willing tostand up both for herselfand the other characters that she cares about. In the face of dastardly villainous foils such as Cheryl, she has to all too often be the one from the lovable leading group that has to step up and fight back for those she cares about.

In doing so, she does end up breaking rules, including her own, and doing whatever is necessary. Whereas Betty and Archie are more often shown to be goody-two-shoes characters, the girl-scout style has never suited Veronica, who is always able to get abrasive should the need arise.

6“You’re Back To Being Boring?”

There is a mean streak to Veronica. She isn’t above pushingthose around her to help further her own ends, and this is one prominent example of how she is willing to give people a little shove to entice them into doing as she wishes.

Veronica has lived up to the savage namesakes of Veronica’s past, like Winona Ryder’s character inHeathers. Constantly proving she is made of ice as she has said herself, there is no doubt that she is one bad hair day away from being a fully-fledged supervillain in her own right.

Veronica & Archie In Riverdale

5“Oh Archie, It’s Adorable When You Underestimate Me”

This Season 2 quote is a moment when Veronica shows offher icy, villainous capabilitieseven to Archie, whom she loves. It is easy to see why Archie would have a moment of hesitation in his otherwise unwavering love for her, which is a prominent and notable feature of the show.

Despite the pair being “endgame” there are moments like this when Veronica lets loose with her more vicious side. Archie, who has always been a little slow in recognizing the flaws of anyone other than himself, never seems to fully pick up on her cold nature.

4“I Won’t Be A Puppet For Your Thirst For Vengeance”

Although it is a little awkwardly worded, this is another linethat shows the consistency in Veronica’s character for standing up for herself. She has always been happy to use people for her own means but has had to find out the hard way in the past what it feels like to be on the other end of getting used.

This rough realization hasn’t particularly changed the way in which Veronica conducts herself in the show, but these repercussions have caught up to her more than one time and may eventually help her see the way she should be treating people is more like the way she wants to be treated herself.

3“It Doesn’t Matter How You Win, So Long As You’re The Last Woman Standing”

Veronica is a former mean girl, and shehas never fully abandonedher shady high-school past since moving to Riverdale at the beginning of the series. Through cheerleader and family squabbles, Veronica has always had a victory as her primary goal, and hurting people is quite alright as long as it leads to a win.

The vicious way in which she conducts her life has always felt like it is at odds with Archie, her supposed soulmate, who is usually ready to make a big speech about everyone coming together and working as a team.

2“I’ve Never Taken The Trash Out Daddy, But I Know When Something’s Rotten”

This is an interesting line, one that almost feels like it belongs in the mouth of anotherRiverdalecharacter. Veronica and Cheryl have always been at odds, but this line seems like it would better fit the tone of the resident annoying rich girl than Veronica. Nevertheless, it was hers.

This shows in particular that Veronica and Cherylreally aren’t all that different, as much as Veronica might prefer it if they were. Being rich has always been part of Veronica’s character, but this particular line showcased how privileged she truly is, and always has been.

1“I Want To Be The She Wolf Of Wall Street”

Can anyone else imagine this coming to pass perfectly? Veronica’s shadiness andcut-throat natureare personified in her idealism of Jordan Belfort, who was always cut-throat and shady in his dealings, and that led to great success for a time. Veronica could easily be headed for just as major a fall in the future.

Her nature is abrasive and dangerous, and whether Veronica eventually wins or loses, she will never stop working to get what she wants.Riverdaleas a show has always dealt with all forms of high-school character tropes, but Veronica less and less fits any character, at least any positive one, that TV has ever known.
