After months of very little news about the Xbox Series XgameScorn, fans finally got an update from developer Ebb Software GmbH. It turns out thatScornis going to be delayedinto sometime in 2022.
Firstannounced for the PC, Scorn has been in development for several years. In fact, it’s been in development long enough that some of its more devoted fans and followers have been complaining to developers about the wait. That might be one of the reasons that, when Ebb Software finally admitted there was going to be a delay, the message had a few barbed comments that seemed aimed at those who had been complaining.

TheXbox Series Xconsole exclusive’s delay announcement came through its official Kickstarter page as part of “Project Update 10.” The announcement started off by promising to shed some light on what the developers are doing and thinking. It also went out of its way to play down the idea that the wait for Scorn has been that long or that the lack of news since last October was that big a deal.
The developer went on to say that sincethe lastScorntrailerwas released, its simply been working on trying to polish things up. While downplaying that lack of info, Ebb Software also made it very clear that it felt as though some of the impatience it had been seeing from some of the game’s most devoted fans was mostly due to “hype.” That included what the company feels were some promotional materials that didn’t do the game much good.
The long post touched on a number of different subjects, most of which seemed to be about how the fans ofScornwere interacting with the developerswhile they waited for news about when the game might finally be released. The end of the post was where Ebb Software confirmed that the game had slipped out of a 2021 release window.
“For the record, yes, the game has slipped into 2022,” the post read. It then went on to explain that there will be some sort of an official announcement on December 10. However, the developer also warned that there was a chance even this official announcement could get pushed back even further. The company did say that if another delay in further news about the game was needed, it would let its Kickstarter followers know. The post closed on a bit of a sour note, with Ebb Software telling its followers that if lack of communication bothered them, they could request their Kickstarter money back and receive it, so that they can move on.
