Sekiro: Shadows Die Twicewas one of 2019’s biggest games, earningmultiple Game of the Year awardsand standing as one of the top-rated releases of the year. Now, over a year since its initial launch, Activision and From Software have announced plans to release a big free update to the popular action game that will add a slew of new content for fans to check out.
On October 29, all versions ofSekiro: Shadows Die Twicewill be getting a free update that adds the new Reflections feature and the Gauntlets of Strength. The Gauntlets of Strength will certainly pushSekiro: Shadows Die Twiceplayers to their limit, but they will be rewarded for their efforts in the form of new cosmetics. With the October 29 update,Sekiroplayers will be able to customize their character with the Old Ashina Shinobi and Tengu outfits, along with a third costume that has yet to be revealed. These outfits will be unlocked by completing the game as well as progressing in the Gauntlets of Strength.
And finally, the October 29 update forSekiro: Shadows Die Twicewill also add Remnants, a feature that should be familiar to fans ofFrom Software’sDark Souls. Players will be able to add 30 second recordings of their actions to the game world, which can be used to help other players complete some of the game’s trickier areas. Remnants can also be used to leave messages for others to read as well, just like inDark Souls. The idea is for players to help each other out, but like inDark Souls, it seems likely that some will use the feature to troll others.
In the meantime, some may notice that the update coming on October 29 coincides with theSekiro: Shadows Die TwiceGoogle Stadia release date. So those playing on Google’s cloud gaming platform should have access to all this bonus content right out of the gate.
