In episode two ofShe-Hulk, Bruce Banner is seen heading into space on a ship after he claims “he has some business to take care of." Gao, who’s thehead writer ofShe-Hulk, was asked if there were any intentions behind the way the Hulk exitedShe-Hulk.“A big part of it is Mark did what he came to do on the show, and we wanted to make sure that people knew, don’t expect him to be in every episode from here on out," Gao said. “But also, I think it kind of opens up the possibility if Marvel chooses to, to do something with that, to pick up that story. If they wanted.” In another interview with The Direct, Gao alluded to the Hulk having some unfinished business on Sakaar following the years he spent there, adding that many things could’ve happened during that time the Hulk was off Earth.

TheWorld War Hulkcomic storyline follows the Hulk crash landing on Sakaar and seeking revenge against the Illuminati for the part they played in the death of his pregnant wife. To fit into the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this would have to be slightly tweaked. However, with the Illuminati introduced inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the chances are great that the comic could be adapted to fit into the Multiverse Saga. Ruffalo has also made it clear that he’s open to doingWorld War Hulkwhenever it’s ordered by Marvel Studios.

With the Disney Expo approaching, many arespeculating thatWorld War Hulkwill be confirmedthen. Considering the next Marvel Cinematic Universe phase has lots of space for new projects to be introduced, and the fact it continues to be teased by those within Marvel Studios, anything is possible.
