No Code Studios is best known for its two adventure-puzzle games,Stories UntoldandObservation. Both games were very horror adjacent, with the studio’s past work with these two games giving fans hope thatTownfallis in good hands. While not much has been announced about the game since its 2022 reveal, No Code Studios recently posted a message for fans to expect news some time in 2024.
In a Twitter thread, No Code acknowledges that new people have joined the company in the past year and that the studio is still working on a “nightmare.” The nightmare referenced in this tweet is likely alluding toSilent Hill: Townfall. It notes that it has no further “signals” or news regarding said game for this year, cheekily apologizing, along with mentioning that more signals will be coming next year, even saying “promise” to boot.
Silent Hill: Townfallis still rather light on information, with no word on its platforms or release date. There were some reports thatSilent Hill: Townfallwould be using Unreal Engine 5, based on how No Code was searching for specialists with knowledge of the game engine, and that it would be abandoning Unity. This was further supported by how No Code was looking to program realistic characters and environments, along with multi-platform tests. This is still a rumor, as No Code hasn’t confirmed if the game will be using Unreal Engine 5.
